Trippr Kodaikanal Backpacker Hostel

Home away from home! Loved every moment, especially the support and care from Kishore bro. Great place for solo travellers and making new friends.

If you're looking for a peaceful getaway close to the town center yet away from the crowds, Trippr is the perfect spot! The property offers a great balance of tranquility and convenience. Special thanks to our host, Eric, who was warm, attentive, and always ready to help.

The place was DIRTY like anything. There were beer bottles lying all around, cigarette butts in the bathroom. The bathroom door had a chunk of wood falling out of it. The rooms were in the basement with no ventilation or light. The common room was a mess. Won't even start with the kitchen. Everything was ewww.. we ended up not even sitting there and just went to a different hotel near the place, which was decent.

The hostel is not maintained well at all. The moment we entered, we could smell smoke, weed, alcohol, you name it. There was ash and empty alcohol bottles lying around, and cigarette packs even in the bathroom. The host told us that the place was getting cleaned, but it didn't look all that different compared to before (the pictures are taken after the place got cleaned). The rooms are in a basement where there is no ventilation. Overall a really bad experience. We decided to leave to stay at another place since the conditions here were far from what we expected even from a hostel.

I don't know what should I say About this place ! If you have your own vehicle then it's the best place if not its worst ! Its in the uphill with No hotels nearby but there's only one cafe which I tried but found to be A bit expensive! Overall place has no good Vibe , and also Not recommendeding for someone who comes for a Vibe!

The common area and the kitchen were really dirty. I guess a day before they had a party and all things were here and there. The kitchen was really messy. some of the rooms are in the basement, which makes it very stuffy and claustrophobic. Ash trays and cigarettes packets were present in the common bathroom as well.

Nice hostel, Ivine is a very helpful and kind volunteer, the chill area is nice and one is in the mountains and nature quite fast (only atms and shops are a bit further away). Would come again!

I'm not usually fond of cold places but Trippr Kodaikanal completely changed my perspective. If you're looking for peace away from the crowds yet want to be close to the town center, Trippr is the perfect spot. & Thanks to the host, Kishore, who was warm, always helpful and made sure our trip was truly a memorable one.
