The Tamara Kodai

My family and I enjoyed an exceptional stay at The Tamara Kodaikanal in May 2025, where the luxury accommodations created a perfect highland retreat. The staff--particularly Vela, Salamon, Packiam, and Somita provided outstanding personalized service that elevated our entire experience. The resort's delicious authentic cuisines, and activities like guided nature walks and various activities kept everyone engaged. The all weather pool was a highlight for my son, and the world-class spa provided much-needed relaxation for us adults. The Tamara offers excellent value through its comprehensive amenities and unparalleled service, making it the perfect destination for families seeking a memorable mountain getaway. Would definitely recommend a stay here.

The Tamara property was a great place for a leisurely stay in perfect weather.The suites were luxurious though would prefer darker shades/curtains during the day . The lighting in the rooms could have brighter options.| For a highend property like this one would expect the titbits and softdrinks in the room to be complimentary ( have experienced this in Tripura House,Shillong).| The restuarant (The Bistro) could cater to some simple food for the elderly with a faster service. There seemed to be too many staff there and yet we had to wait for the starters which arrived well after the drinks. | All staff were friendly and courteous and smiling always though communication skills (even English) were below par.| Overall we had a very comfortable stay at Tamara.

Our stay at Tamara was exceptional. Each and every staff member always greeted us with a smile and was ever-ready to help. They kept in mind the small details that made the overall experience extremely memorable. ||Right from the check-in process where Bhavya gave us a detailed tour of the property and our room. To the amazing team at the restaurant right from Dinesh the Restaurant Manager, Kushal the team leader and our servers Akash and Fouzaisa. They constantly ensured we were well fed and had everything we needed. A shout to the housekeeping teams for their prompt service and also the buggy drivers. ||A special mention through this entire stay goes to Chef Upaching and his team Chef Shanu Kumar and Chef Prasun. On our last dinner, they prepared for us traditional Tripuri cuisine. Complete with a slow cooked broth, bao, gudok, sushi, pitha, bamboo shoots salad and sauteed brinjal. The meal was a warm hug in the cold of Kodaikanal.||Overall an amazing experience and would surely recommend.

Had a lovely stay at The Tamara Kodai. It's a beautiful, well-maintained 8-acre property with spacious and clean rooms, prompt buggy service, and warm hospitality. The food was a highlight--delicious with an elaborate menu that caters to varied tastes. The pool is small and well-kept. The location is excellent--peaceful, scenic, and conveniently close to key spots in Kodaikanal. That said, if you've experienced Tamara Coorg, this may not match up in terms of grandeur or immersive property experience--but on its own, Tamara Kodai is still a great choice for a peaceful and comfortable stay.

We had an incredible experience at Tamara Kodai. This is an all suite property and very luxuriously done. The luxury suites are very well appointed and it was a pleasure spending our time at the property. Also, their service levels are really good, whether it's room service or at the restaurants or house keeping you'll get the best! Have all praises after spending 3 days here. Even though it's just 1 km from Kodai lake, which is like the heart of Kodaikanal but it feels as if you are in the middle of a jungle, with so much greenery all around! Also, they have huge very well maintained lawns! One other call out, we had all our meals here and did not get bored, they have an excellent team of Chefs and each meal was very nicely curated and served.

The lunch buffet that we had was amazing. The manager Ajay and the waiters Jegan and Rohit have taken a good care of us. The food from the live kitchen were well-prepared and tasty. We will come to this place again for sure. I am secretly planning with Ajay for something on coming Tuesday for our wedding anniversary.

Pros: Tamara has a beautiful scenery.The rooms are well cleaned and maintained. There is a piano at the reception hall which was entertaining.kids zone was good in the garden. Activities were good. Cons: In the front of the hotel, the statues without face at the main entrance were scary. There is a drainage issues in the bathroom intolerable. The water couldn't be drained in the toilet. Coming to the main issue regarding the food ,the barbeque chicken was made as butter chicken the next day which led to food poisoning. All the non veg food doesn't seem fresh. We had vomitting, diarrhea and fever. Still finding a solution to settle down the stomach normal.
