Taj Mahal Vintage Villa by VOYE HOMES

I stayed here for one night during my Kodaikanal visit. Location is suoer as we will get good sunrise view in the morning. Garden and parking area are sufficient. Room size is big. As name indicates property and furniture are vintage. Need some renowation and maintenance to give full satisfaction to guests. Caretaker is giving tasty food, but there is a chance to increase their efficiency. If you are looking for a normal stay, and a family time, you will get it. If you are looking for a Posh or star accomodation, or for proffessional service, dont choose this. But I liked it as i got lot of time with my family and homely food.

Their cuisine is superb, and the host is outstanding--a must-visit for all lovers of the hills.

This place has truly captured my heart. First and foremost, the stay is amazing, located in a prime spot with easy access to various tourist destinations. The rooms are spacious and impeccably clean. What stands out the most is the incredible hospitality of the staff, especially Devi, Venugopal and their wonderful kids--they are absolutely amazing! Their warmth and care embody the essence of Kodai. Without a doubt, they are the true gem of this villa. This charming vintage villa perfectly captures the timeless Kodai vibe, making it an unforgettable experience!

Awesome stay. Beautiful villa with great view and very good garden space. Location: It's around 3 km from Kodai lake, easily accessible by road. If you don't have a car, you can hire a cab to reach here. Charges Rs. 300 one way. It has a very good valley view. Rooms: Rooms and common space in villa are very well maintained. Rooms are spacious. Neat and clean and very comfortable. Caretaker/Staff: One of the best part of this property is the caretaker Venu and his family who ensured we had a great stay. Always helpful and arranged everything we needed. They prepared very good food, arranged for cabs when required and were always willing to help. Food: Caretaker and his family prepare delicious food for guests. You need to inform them beforehand if you need anything specific in your next meal. They arrange and prepare. Prices are pretty reasonable. Voye Homes Booking: Although booking experience is smooth, however, looks like there's some confusion between them and the owner of property. We had breakfast included in our booking but were charged during checkout. Overall: We enjoyed our stay. You must book it if you're looking for a relaxing holiday.

Unfortunately cannot give the review in negative. We had booked the villa 2-2.5 months ago as our visit date was in last week of December (peak season), to our shock they simply denied saying there was a mistake from their booking partner voye homes and they don't have any booking with our name. My son wasn't feeling well, so we wanted to check in immediately. We had all the confirmation and email communication from the booking website. If the property was sold out, they would have rejected or removed the property details from the website(which they didn't do even on our arrival day) The booking partner has threatened us to do whatever we can. The owner even said don't forget you are in our state(Tamil Nadu), you cannot do anything to us. Extremely unprofessional behaviour and blame game from all the people involved. Absolute non sense. Please dont book this property through any website or even directly to ruin your holidays !!!!

The rooms were spacious and clean, with beautiful vintage decor that added a nostalgic touch. The service was excellent, with the staff being attentive and helpful throughout our visit. Highly recommend this property for its top-notch service, serene ambiance, and prime location!

Attendant Venu and Devi are very polite, courteous. Service is very good. Devi prepares food of your choice. Very delicious and homely food. It was wonderful experience.

I had a wonderful time during my trip to Kodaikanal from November 15-17, 2024. For my stay, I booked the Vintage Rooms for one night and Zostel for the following night. Pros : The weather was perfect for a relaxing getaway -- cold and misty all day, which created the ideal atmosphere to unwind. The room itself was charming and cozy, with a comfortable bed, a TV, a spacious bathroom, and two chairs, all adding to the rustic vibe. The rooms are connected by a door, which is locked for privacy, but it still gave a sense of spaciousness. The entire villa had a cozy, homely feel, and the hosts, Venu and his wife, were incredibly kind and welcoming. In the morning, we enjoyed a delicious breakfast of pakoras and banana chips, which were a real treat. The owner Hawa is very kind making sure the guests are satisfied. The property itself is over 100 years old and exudes a classic British colonial vibe, offering a quaint and peaceful countryside living experience. If you're looking for a serene escape with a touch of nostalgia, this place is a wonderful choice. Cons: * One thing to note is that the bathroom didn't have a shower point, so it was a traditional bucket shower. * No complimentary breakfast at all and I was expecting a complimentary breakfast or dinner for the price and since the town is really really far, finding food can be hard. While this might not be for everyone, it certainly added to the old-world charm of the place.
