Horrifyingly bad experience. We booked the most expensive room in the stay, and our check in process was delayed a lot. There were a lot of power issues, which we completely understood, but on one night, in the rain, the owner's wife asked us to shift rooms at 11.30 pm. According to the owner, all cottages except the one we were staying in had power backup too. The owner himself was very, very rude on the phone, calling us things like senseless. Very unhelpful staff, and owners too. Would not recommend. You can go to other places which will provide you with an experience that's better.

Horrible Experience - Complete Scam, Do Not Book Our stay at Surya Holidays in Kodaikanal, Tamil Nadu, was an absolute nightmare. We had paid an advance of 10,000, based on a phone conversation with the owner, who assured us we could choose a cottage upon arrival. However, when we arrived, the reality was far from what was promised. There were only *six cottages*, all in terrible condition. Nothing resembled the pictures shown on their website. The cottages were poorly maintained, and it was clear that the place had been neglected for a long time. To make matters worse, this hotel is located in a *very remote area*. It's so isolated that there is no one nearby; if you were in trouble, no one would hear you even if you screamed. It felt unsafe and extremely uncomfortable. Additionally, there was only one person for cooking and one person for service, and the overall service was abysmal. When we asked for a refund due to the appalling state of the place, the owner was *incredibly rude* and flat-out refused to return the 10,000, which was meant to be an advance for booking, not a final payment. I would strongly advise against booking at *Surya Holidays*. It's a complete scam, and you risk not only losing your money but also your peace of mind. Replying to your reply This is his daughter. I want to clarify that there is no scam here. The only scam is you, and your business--our concern is solely about the service we received. When we were asked to send the money, it was not made clear that there would be no refund. We explicitly mentioned our intent to inspect the property before making a decision, yet we were rushed into sending 10,000 via Google Pay. We were guided by only one person and thoroughly assessed the facilities before deciding not to stay. My father attempted to contact you to request a refund, but your response was unprofessional and rude using bad words. Our vacation, intended to be peaceful, was marred by this experience. You verbally abused my father and now blaming it was him to decided to scream. No person in their right mind would start screaming simply. Your business practices and the quality of facilities and staff have been disappointing, and we've noted similar complaints in other reviews. We believe your focus should be on providing a positive experience for tourists rather than prioritizing immediate payment without adequate transparency. I hope you take this feedback seriously and address these issues to improve your service for future guests instead of simply lying your way through such low means. And as mentioned we will be taking this matter with the police. Because you are nothing but a cheater. When asking for money nothing regarding refund policy was mentioned and suddenly, you have a company refund policy.

The hospitality of the hosts, Sorab and Ahmed, was equally exceptional. Their warmth, kindness, and genuine care for their guests made me feel right at home. Terrible Stay - Complete Rip-Off Our experience at Surya Holidays in Kodaikanal was awful. After paying a 10,000 advance, we arrived to find only six poorly maintained cottages, nothing like the pictures online. The location is extremely isolated, making us feel unsafe. The service was terrible, with only one person for cooking and another for service. When we asked for a refund due to the awful conditions, the owner was rude and refused to return our money. Avoid Surya Holidays at all costs. It's a scam, and you'll regret wasting both your money and time.

We had booked one bedroom suite (pinus cottage). Pros: scenic and peaceful surroundings. We can see the Kodai lake clearly from the balcony of the room. Surrounded by lots of greenery. Neat and clean room and washroom. Cons: 1. It's somehow difficult to find out the exact location as it is not properly updated in Google maps, we had to ask few local people to reach there. 2. Room amenities were very poor. Basic toiletries and electric kettle were not provided. We had to drink cold water every time. Even they charged more than MRP for water bottles. 3. Food at their restaurant was very expensive as per the taste and quality. We ordered veg fried rice which was tasting awful and paneer butter masala's gravy was too watery which we couldn't eat. Normal paratha was also not up to the mark. Better to have food from other outside restaurants.

We just Loved the place! The location, room and the food were too good ! The host was so welcoming. Would love to visit again sometime again ! The temperature drop was at 10deg ! Private houses with beautiful view of the kodai lake !

The homestay is located perfectly on a mountain top...comfortably accessible by car...and hardly 10 mins drive to the lake and centre of the town .....has a lovely view of Kodai lake and the valley. We were in the Royal Suite cottage next to the wooden cabin. The room was pretty large, had a warm ambience with the wood and cane furnishings. The bathroom was big with shower and towels were provided. Private balcony with cottage and the balcony has partial view of the lake and valley.||We totally enjoyed our stay here and will definitely go back. The whole environment is so peaceful and laidback. We went in 1st week of March an off-season time so was all the more quieter around and we loved it.||Complimentary breakfast purely south indian with eggs was good. Otherwise lunch and dinner options r limited...non veg is available. ||Pet friendly and our pug loved it there. They provide non veg food for pets on request and chargeable...and our pet got her choicest pieces there . ||Service is good and prompt and they try to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Mr.Sohrab the proprietor is extremely polite, helpful and cooperative.

A lovely place nestled amongst the mountains overlooking the Kodaikanal lake and city. |Very peaceful and comfortable. ||Had a very peaceful stay with my wife. |The whole process was nice and smooth. |You would however want to call and ask the exact location when you are close to the property, because the location on Google maps is not the actual location of the property. ||Drinking water will be provided at an additional cost, so if you want, buy some on the way to the resort. ||We did not get a chance to taste the food as we were out for all the meals, but the care takers called and asked if any food was needed or not. ||You get a nice, massive room with a balcony. ||Over all a wonderful experience and stay.
