Kodai Mist Resort

If there was an option to select zero star,I would have prefer that.Very bad experience.Rooms were not clean,Used bedsheets were provided.Only after multiple arguments they changed the used bedsheets. washrooms were poor, Toilets were damaged ones. The photos they shared and what we got were entirely different.No complementary breakfast. Basic amenities like electric kettle,drinking water,glass,towel,extra sheets,toothpaste,soaps etc were not provided. Poor service quality.No network connection. Not worth to the cost.

Dear Nature Lover, First of all, I wanted to share my recent experience during our trip to Kodaikanal. We had booked rooms at Kodai Mist Resort after seeing it online. While the location of the resort is indeed marvelous, with a misty and cold climate in the afternoon and evening, our experience was quite disappointing in several other aspects. The rooms were okay, but we faced issues such as a malfunctioning flush and inadequately changed bedsheets. We booked a two-bedroom cottage, and although we were told a third bedroom would be closed off, someone unexpectedly opened and occupied that room late at night (around 11:45 PM), which was quite unsettling. Furthermore, we found the restaurant to be unsatisfactory. The most significant issues, however, were the lack of mobile network and Wi-Fi connectivity. Once inside the resort, we were completely cut off, with no way to contact family members. This isolation might suit bachelors looking for privacy, but it was inconvenient for us. The resort operates under OYO. Additionally, the distance from Kodaikanal Lake to the resort is approximately 8 kilometers, and the road is extremely hilly and in poor condition. It seems more suitable for heavy vans or 4-wheel drive vehicles rather than lighter cars like a Dzire or Swift. While our vehicle managed, the road conditions (lack of proper tarring, narrow width, and steep inclines) felt risky and could potentially damage the clutch, handbrake, or tires. Even to buy basic snacks, we had to drive about 4 kilometers on these challenging roads. It would greatly improve the experience if the resort had network and Wi-Fi access, a small shop for essentials like snacks and cigarettes, and better road conditions. Overall, it was a very terrible experience for us, and I would strongly recommend trying to book accommodations closer to the lake instead, even if there's a slight price difference, as it would save on fuel costs and offer better accessibility. The room and service were satisfactory, though the approach to the property posed a minor challenge due to road conditions. Overall, our experience was average, with the cost being relatively affordable compared to other options. We stayed in October 2024 as a family and occupied a cozy two-story house, featuring two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a hall on each level. Overall, it met our needs comfortably.

Good Location. But road is not that good. Room service is nice. Safe place for family and couple. Overall Good

It was a nice experienced. It is situated a little away from the kodaikanal, in a very peaceful area with lots of things to see. Especially the location. The accommodation was good. It was not crowded. Making it a good place for a family or group stay.

Google map is directing wrong directions and ending up in disaster roads for everyone who search route for this resort. Tea/Coffee is served in packets, not in flask. So the beverages gets cold fast. Food is not served along with plates and in thermos. So same story. You get cold food. "*Smoking should not be allowed inside the room or atleast Non-smoking rooms should be provided for the families. The Pillows and Blankets we got were cigarette stinking*" No TVs in the room. Road to this resort is very steep. May be hard for new drivers. VALUE FOR MONEY STAY. STRONG GEYSERS. PEACEFUL LOCATION. SAFE.

Location was so good. Service was good. Food was good but Rooms are not clean, restroom was not clean. TV was not working, told to clean the kettle often but nothing happened. Requested for campfire but no response..

The worst stay experience I ever had, Location is wrong, it's really difficult to reach this resort, you have to drive through very steep uphills. Once we reached, the guy took 40 mins to do the check in, The room provided had cigarette buds thrown everywhere, the bed sheets were damp, no water in the bathroom, and it seemed like a room which was never used before. These guys take overbookings and provide unused, unfinished rooms. The manager at the reception is very much language biased, it's not a very welcoming experience for outsiders.
