Hotel Subhalakshmi Palace

This is the worst hotel we have ever stayed in. After spending 37,000 rupees, (PS360 gbp) for 4 nights, after 1st night we booked a different hotel so we only had to spend 1 more night there. The room was nothing like the photos on website. We booked deluxe king suite with breakfast, there was nothing deluxe about it. There was no kettle, tea and coffee. When we asked about teabags and coffee sachets, returned with 2 scruffy flasks of drinks that we were made to pay for. Smallest bottles of shower gel in bathroom. There was no hot water to wash or shower. Water power was very low, could have got wetter under a watering can. The restaurant was closed, as was other parts of the "hotel", which we were not told about, we would have cancelled if we had known. When we arrived we were met by a scruffy member of staff with no skills of dealing with public. Because we left after 2 nights instead of 4 it means we had paid more for this hovel than if we had stayed in 5* luxury hotel.

Good clean rooms. took a single room, very comfortable. You get Hot water 24/7 but some issue in my room. I was provided an alternative to use the double room for bathing . Good helpful people. Water bottle, Toiletries provided but no toothbrush/toothpaste.

Great place to stay to explore Chettinad. The room was very clean, big size for a single room and the staff were lovely, kind and helpful.|The only problem I had was the AC, it was working but without remote control as the sensor wasn't working. They finally adjusted the temperature for me, so all good.|I'll go back there if I find myself again in this area of Tamil Nadu.

Rooms are spacious and clean. But the basic facilities you would expect after paying so much are missing. The AC was making noise and was not responding to the remote. There was no hot water and after a while no water altogether. Though the reception and service people were very helpful, it had spoiled the mood. The very reason we book such costly rooms is to have a hassle free stay.

I CANNOT COMMENT ABOUT THE ROOM BUT THEIR SERVICE IS TERRIBLE IN ALL ASPECTS 1)I CALLED THEM THRICE BEFORE REACHING THE HOTEL BUT NO ONE RESPONDED THE CALL (IN INTERVAL OF AN HOUR AND TWO DIFFERENT NUMBERS) THEN REACHED THEM VIA LAND LINE 2)IN THE CALL I CONFIRMED THAT I WILL REACH AT 11PM AND ASKED TO KEEP THE ROOM PREPARED (IT IS ALREADY BOOKED IN MAKE MY TRIP) 3) BUT WHILE REACHING THE ROOM AT THE SAID TIME THEY ARE STATING THAT NO ROOM IS READY AND ASKED FOR ANOTHER 15 MINUTES TO ARRANGE THE ROOM 4) AFTER REACHING THE ROOM I INTENDED TO REFRESH BUT THERE IS NO REFRESHMENT KIT SO CALLED THE RECEPTION AND ASKED THE SAME BUT THEY DIDN'T SENT THE SAME 5) THEY SAID BREAKFAST WILL BE SERVED AT ROOM ON 8AM BUT WHILE I AM CALLING AT 8:20 THEY STATED THAT THEY ARE YET TO PURCHASE AND STILL AT 8:50 THEY DIDN'T SERVED THE BREAKFAST 6)THE ECONOMY SINGLE ROOM ARE AVERAGE TO STAY(This is the only room I got in MMT) VERDICT:If you are on a official Trip and if you used to stay in good hotels never ever think about this hotel to stay,Their Hospitality will definitely boil your blood

Good food. Awesome service. Big plus is it has ample car parking on highways. Restrooms were clean.

It's good to stay there nice room service

Nice place to stay with family, safe, calm inside. They don't have restaurant but you can order food they will arrange person to get it with very limited menu. Hot water available 24/7. Rooms are very spacious with king size bed along with sofas and table. Linens are clean, they provide toiletries. Front office person available 24/7. It's old building, could have maintained little more. The bathrooms are big and non slippery floor.
