Kerala House

Sad to see it in such a dilapidated state. If maintained well, tourist will flock and it's very close to the sea front. Remember staying here in my childhood.

The view and the Accessibility to the nearby attractions are great! You can watch the sunrise from the terrace or balcony itself Food and service decent. The room is really spacious, but the bathrooms are not maintained at all. The staff mentioned about the renovation that's gonna happen, so currently only 4 rooms are available.

Why I gave 2 star? This property located on the banks of Indian sea in Kanyakumari, a prime area. Very near to beach and Vivekananda Rock. But, the building ina devastated condition. Most of the rooms are closed for renovation for ages. The construction of new building is paused because of unavailability of funds. Other than these, the available rooms are good and service also.

It's located at a prime location of Kanyakumari. From the building itself we can have a beautiful view of the sunset. Food was really good from the restaurant inside the facility. But it's quite difficult to get a room here. Both my friend and myself together, booked through the government website, but unfortunately I didn't get a room there.But my friend got the room.

For a proud malayali, Kerala House at Kanyakumari is a palace building with 8 spacious rooms, all facing the sea, three storeyed Kerala Architectural Beauty adorned with superb paintings of contemporary Kerala Artists in every room. The stay is very pocket friendly, costing 1500 INR for an air conditioned room having a 300 square feet room, 100 square feet dressing room and another 100 square feet for the bathroom. The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner around 100 INR per person. To avail rooms, booking is required through the government portal and also ensure that no VIPs are coming to take a dip in the ocean. Gandhi Smriti and boat jetty is walkable distance but the sunset point, an auto need to be taken, which is 2 KM west to property. If lucky, you can spot peacocks walking and luckier l, dancing around the property. Wish the rules were slighly flexible for the last minute tourists from Kerala. for building and rooms and stay and food..

We stayed there last month and the property is in pathetic condition. No maintenance at all. It is situated in a very nice location but administration is very poor. Bathrooms are worst.

Oldcurtains, bathroom not properl,cleaned, very few occupants, scope for very much improvement. So many land underutilised. Many stray dogs.

Near to Kanyakumari. Visited this hotel and had lunch and tea during IMG training w.e.f. 11 to 14 Dec.,2023 TVM Kerala. Good serving practices.
