Hotel Aalayam Kancheepuram (Yatri Nivas)

Rooms are big and pleasantly cleaner than expected for a Government Hotel. Service is good and people at the reception are friendly and helpful. They even provide Driver accommodation at no extra charge.

The rooms were big and spacious but were extremely foul smelling. Because of the odour I had to change my room. The other room also had similar odour and it was coming from the cloth of the mop they were using to clean the room. Extremely limited food options are available. If you're looking for North Indian Lunch or dinner options are limited. Mostly Tamil meals are available. The service was extremely good. Polite and helpful staff.

This is completely worth for the price. They have rooms based on family size. Lift is available, restaurant is inside the stay. No food service to the room, that's the only con. Ample parking space, room is spacious, clean and you get almost all facilities that would be there in any hotel outside.

Not at all worth. Low maintenance. Room smells really awkward. There were Bed bugs in the mattresses terrifying. Cannot even rest peacefully. We were unable to sleep whole night it was terrifying as there were plenty of beg bugs inside the mattress and we were bitten by them whole night we've suffered with buring sensation. Totally unworthy. This hotel was shut for almost 2 years and just opened as it is with low cost affordable staff. They haven't done anything after reaching out to them about this issue. They are only responsible for their business but not for the customer convenience.

No room service at the time when i stayed. Still it's an excellent place. Good rooms with quality beds, table and chair, 24x7 hot water, 2 big sized lifts and Infinite parking space.

Our stay at this property in Kancheepuram was exceptional across the board. The location was ideal, and the staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating. The facilities were top-notch, and the cleanliness of the property was impeccable. It truly felt like a home away from home.

Spacious & clean rooms. No issues with hot water or AC. Very good & helpful service staff. Restaurant food quality is also good. Ample space for parking. 5 min drive to main Shiva & Ammavari temple. You have all the autos at the entrance to commute anywhere. Overall we had a comfortable stay. Will definitely stay here when we visit Kanchi again!

Stayed in Mini Suite. First of all it is not even close to being called as Suite. Although it is spacious, it is very basic, dusty, stained sofa. AC is disconnected in the Hall. Room AC is set to a particular temperature which doesn't suffice in summer. Stinky and smelly bathrooms. Linens are not clean. Smelly rooms. The corridors are like hot ovens (what I experienced in summer). Restuarant has no major options. Meals is not served. Lacks taste and hygiene. Breakfast is really bad. Only advantage is pricing and parking space. Overall I was not convinced, and will find an alternative option next time around.
