Rio Grande Hotel

Had a pleasant stay here overall. The rooms are quite spacious, which is a plus, though they do lack some standard accessories you'd expect in a 3-star property--like a kettle, coffee maker, or basic toiletry pouches. The food experience, however, made up for it--tasty, hygienic, and well-served. The location is also perfect--peaceful and quiet, yet still within the city, so everything is easily accessible. But what really stood out was the incredible service. The staff went above and beyond to make sure we felt welcomed and taken care of. You can genuinely see their efforts in every little detail. Even though they're aware that the infrastructure isn't perfect, their attitude and hospitality more than make up for it. Hats off to the team for such dedication!

Thoroughly impressed with the overall experience, during our stay here. The staff were incredibly supportive, readily available to assist with any queries or requests. The room itself was exceptionally well-equipped. Attention had been paid to providing guests with everything they might need for a comfortable stay. Cleanliness was also top-notch, which is always a major plus. Highly recommended to anyone looking for a comfortable and convenient stay. The well-equipped rooms, supportive staff, and ample parking make it an excellent choice.

Rooms are very good for the budget hotel. Staff is very polite and helpful. Restaurant prepared food with out central India taste so we enjoyed. I would recommend for short stay.

Read carefully before booking. DON'T BOOK THIS HOTEL. VERY POOR TO WORST. FULL CHEAT I don't know how people have rated it 4 star. The rooms are old , with old furnitures and have bare minimum facilities. Yes the rooms are clean. But the toilets are abysmal. The toilets are stained yellowish and a foul smell comes from the toilet. The management very well knows this and will try to spray room freshener for covering the stench. They will give an excuse that the hotel is under renovation. If you are renovating, shut the hotel...Renovate completely and then open. Don't fool people. Only cons is the location, which is very good. Inspite of this the management will just nod and act sly and continue doing such cheap practices because everyone comes to stay for a day or two. I had a change of room because of the toilet stink which was relatively better. But still my rating is DONT BOOK THIS HOTEL. VERY BAD

We were shafted by another hotel 15 minutes earlier. This was at midday and we asked the Rio if we could have a room for half a day as we were catching a bus at 22 45 hrs. They said we could, for half price, for half a day. Seemed fair.|The room was so bad though. To charge what they do for these rooms is a real cheek. They are, literally falling apart. Cleaning... please... CLEAN!!!

***PATHETIC EXPERIENCE***DO NOT WASTE MONEY ON THIS HOTEL STAY***PHOTOS IN GOOGLE ARE JUST TO FOOL PEOPLE***ROOMS DOES NOT LOOK THE WAY THEY HAVE POSTED*** This is a pretty old building, with so many flaws.. There are much better places in Madurai for a cheaper amount.. I paid around 8000 for 2 rooms, and what I got feels like I was staying free of cost.. I have attached pictures for all the cons I'm mentioning here.. Once you enter itself, you can decided this is not the same room you booked for. It looks so different from what they have posted. Everything is too old to charge so much. This place is not even worth 500rs.. Wall layers are coming off.. Bathroom is so dirty that you don't even want to enter.. I've never seen such worn out stained toilets, taps, etc. in any of my stays in my entire life.. Lights are flickering and no proper lighting too.. No comments on the towels provided, looks at least 5 to 6 years old.. On top of all these, it was raining during our stay here, and we get to witness water leakage inside the room, like seriously? This is what you get in a so called 3-star stay? I am so embarrassed in front of my family members for booking such a worst place.. We came for a trip as a family after so many years, and this is I have them, an unpleasant stay.. To the hotel management, do you even know what honesty and loyalty mean? Do you know what customer satisfaction means? Every people in the world expects to experience what they pay for.. If you cannot give that pleasant experience, why do you have to list this option and charge so much.. Don't you think it's unfair? Imagine the way you would feel when you book rooms for such huge money, but getting this type of rooms on a family vacation. Don't fool people like this.

Plus Points: 1. Ample Parking 2. 300 mts to main road and around 6 kms from Temple, auto will charge around 200-300 one way. 3. Very good Breakfast 4. Supportive staff Negatives: Its an old property. Walls, washrooms, electricals are not in good shape, you will be disappointed. Wall plaster coming out various places. Rooms feel dark and shabby.

The breakfast and their service is excellent. People are kind and friendly, I deeply appreciate it. Especially being from Maharashtra they spoke and understood Hindi. It was easy to communicate and that really helped. Thank
