Wallwood Garden - 19th Century (Coonoor, Tamil Nadu)

Hi: we were there few weeks ago and we loved it. its a beautiful property which has a few rooms only so make sure you book in advance. Almost like a home thats been converted. The staff is warm and friendly. food is delicious. its close by to many lovely restaurants and Sim's park is a 5 to 10 min walk. I highly recommend this place if you are not looking for that very hotel type experience. this is very homely. Being a heritage property, it doesnt have a pool but thats not a big deal at all assuming you will be out for the most part of the day. This is in Coonoor which is just abt 65 kms from coimbatore and abt a couple of hrs drive to Ooty depending on where you are going in ooty.

We had a great time at this property. Great location. And great vibes at this place. Very positive atmosphere there. Well designed hotel and staff is very nice Robin, Prasanna, Geeta are very cooperative they know how to treat guests and chef Shiva is wonderful cook. We enjoyed our stay there. Highly recommended to everyone. Great job done guys keep it up

I've stayed at other neemrana properties before and this one did not at all meet the mark. The price that this place charges is just not worth it. It's a small property where they have shoved in ten rooms and it only has a small garden so really there is no proper space to be. The property is also on the main road so you hear traffic and trucks - not what we wanted for our quiet getaway in the hills. The receptionist was extremely rude. We asked for a bonfire the first night and she gave us a curfew of 10 PM to sit in the garden as if it's a hostel ! On day two there was no milk (and hence no tea or coffee) available till 9 AM! The food is below average. There are some dogs caged by the neighbour so they cry all night long and you don't get restful sleep. Would not recommend.

Very nice, spontaneous and helpful staff. Very understandable English. Nice food and clean rooms. Not always hot water is there as the boiler is quite quick out of warm water Nice if with check in could be mentioned who boiler works. The shower is great and sanitary very clean. Some of the bedlinen smells a bit humid. The beds & matresses are really perfect and the overall service is very good. We had a problem with our bus and within 5 minutes Robin arranged replacement. Even drove with a scooter to arrange it. We would definitely recommend this hotel!

Had a wonderful week with family..Very relaxing atmosphere....child friendly....Helpful staffs....Excellent room service....Delicious food...Beautiful view from room...We were lucky to have animal sightings. Well maintained premises.. Special thanks to Wallwood team for making our stay even more memorable..

Place is very cozy and well maintained. Chef Shiva goes above and beyond to serve each meal as per our requirement - the chocolate mousse / souffle is a must try. Ever pleasant and smiling Robin and Geetha are so warm and welcoming and helped us with good places to see around, given Coonoor is a small place. Rooms are well maintained and service is very good. Would highly recommend anyone who is keen to eat, sleep and repeat and drive around this beautiful yet not so crowded Coonoor.

You don't come to hills to stay on highway. Though we did read that in other reviews but somehow ignored. My humble request to you, you don't ignore this unless you don't have your car and you rely on public transport. This is the worst location we have stayed in and mind it this is our 10th+ trip here. The sound of road is worse than bangalore and it doesn't help if you are in room facing road which is literally facing road ( highway ) There are 100s of better place and urgency of review will show because I am writing this 30 mins into stay :) Save your day and vacation

The location is perfect as it's near the centre of the city and near the major park. It is a very homely place with staff who are like family. It blends local and western very well. It's a perfect location to escape and relax.
