Oland Plantation Stays Coonoor

This place was my Hotel California of 2024. Stayed here for 3 days and 3 nights in December with a friend and it felt like an eternity soaked in tranquility and peace. After shuttling between cities for most of the year, the few days here made me feel like I could finally hear my own thoughts. We stayed in the waterfall room in Hornbill House. It was gorgeous. Probably outdone only by the Jacuzzi room upstairs. The treks, the view, the food, the decor, the service, the communication, the cleanliness and amenities - exemplary. Not a spot of trouble or confusion. If I have one complaint, it would be that the mist was not as accommodating as we would've liked on some afternoons. With a view like the one we had, it was unfair to have it covered during the day - even if the rolling mist and the mild dew spun a magic of their own. The manager was delightful, as he took us on a walk through the property and nearby village - helping us sight Hornbills, snakes, monkeys and more. The chef prepared amazing meals and contributed majorly towards the loss of our year's hard won fitness goals. Overall, it was a delightful stay that we hope to repeat - with partners, families and more friends!

Absolute bliss, Gokul the chef cooked up the best South Indian food we ever had. Saw Hornbills from our terrace every day. Just missed out seeing a wild elephant. Lots of fabulous walks, very serene place, well worth the three-hour drive from Coimbatore Airport

I recently had the pleasure of visiting **Oland plantation stay**, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. Nestled in the heart of nature, the resort offers a peaceful escape with stunning views of the Nilgiris. However, what impressed me the most was the incredible variety of food they serve. One of the standout dishes I tried was the **Jackfruit Biryani**. It was a unique and flavorful twist on the traditional biryani, with perfectly cooked jackfruit pieces that had a meaty texture, infused with aromatic spices. The combination of flavors was simply delightful, and it was a refreshing change from the usual options. Alongside the biryani, I also had **crispy jackfruit fries**, which were absolutely delicious. They had the perfect crunch on the outside while remaining soft and flavorful inside. The seasoning was spot on, making them a great snack or side dish. These dishes truly showcased the versatility of jackfruit and how well it can be incorporated into different cuisines. Apart from these, the menu featured a wide range of fresh, organic dishes prepared with locally sourced ingredients. Every meal was a treat, offering both traditional and innovative flavors that highlighted the richness of the region's culinary heritage. The dining experience was enhanced by the resort's serene ambiance, making it even more enjoyable. After such a fantastic experience with the food, I know that my next visit to Oland plantation stay will not just be for a meal--I **definitely plan to stay here in the future**. One of a kind experience. If you're looking for something offbeat and unique and want to make memories of a lifetime, this is the place to be! Waterfall right outside your cottage, witnessing wild tusker, bears, hornbills in their natural habitat, lovely walks, great food and hospitality, couldn't have asked for more. Highly recommended!

Oland Stays is far away from the maddening crowds. Approximately 20 km South of Coonoor. They have a few cozy cottages in a serene location with abundant nature. And a lovely waterfall near the cottage. Birders and wildlife enthusiasts can have a good time for spotting and photography. As an avid birder I enjoyed my stay spotting many Lifers. Kudos to Prashanth who is passionate about taking care of visitors with his warmheartedness. Chef Gokul dishes out wholesome and nourishing food and made us happy and energetic always. Promoters need to address few shortfall in access and mobility within for people staying there. They shouldn't rest in the past laurels and complements since that's history.

This is a place for nature lovers who love the wild and healthy adults. Not recommended for kids and the elderly. It's like a Jungle estate house. Don't expect room service. Rooms have basic amenities. Food is an issue. Set fixed menu with very few items, no a-la-carte, fixed timings for the restaurant. The staff is welcoming. Please carry umbrellas for the rains and snacks for your cravings. Lighting inside the room is very low to avoid attracting insects. The Place is nested in one remote location and access road is narrow. The drive from conoor station to the plantation stay was the best part driving between tea gardens is a wonderful experience.

It was an amazing experience. If you are interested in bird watching then will definitely love this place, even if not you will generate a new hobby after staying here.
