This is more like an Air B&B than a hotel. It's a home on a side street with various broken up rooms with bathrooms and central kitchens. It's extremely cheap, safe, and clean. However, if you've never been to the area or do not speak any of the local languages, it's better to stay at a hotel. I stayed here with my husband for a family wedding because we had family in the neighborhood and they came to pick us up. It's on a side street with very little street lights, not handicapped accessible, and the owners don't have English as their first language. I'd recommend this place to people from India, local to Coimbatore, or are used to staying in homestays. I wouldn't recommend this place for anyone with small children, babies, or those with elderly relatives or in wheelchairs due to steep stairs and lack of sidewalks.

My husband and I stayed for a week at this location with relatives to attend a wedding in Coimbatore. My husband and in-laws are Indian and from Coimbatore, so they knew the area and had booked the location. I would highly recommend this place to 1. Locals who know the area and are used to getting around the neighborhood on foot, 2. Indians who have experience with neighborhood style homestays, 3. Backpackers/people who frequently use no-frills hostels. ||||While the apartment was safe (multiple locks and deadbolts), clean, great AC and fans, and our room came with a full size fridge, table and chairs, and kitchenette with cutlery, it's down a residential street that's hard to find, is not marked, the road is off a main thoroughfare with no sidewalks, and the area gets incredibly dark at night. This isn't suitable if you don't know the area, know the language, need a luxury-level space to stay, or you have someone in your party that is disabled or elderly, as there are multiple stairs and no wheelchair access. ||||This is a budget hotel, but there's nothing wrong with that. The owner is very nice, the neighborhood during the day has a lot of birds and greenery, and the house itself is behind high walls and a locked gate, so there is definite safety. They will also do your laundry for a cheap price. Use this for a long-term stay, or if you have guests coming for an event that need rooms to sleep, change, or de-stress.
Corner Stay (Race Course road) is excellent for personal or business trips. It's not a hotel but like a service apartment. Quiet neighborhood, good rooms and bathrooms. Additional common area (living room, dining room, balcony) to sit and relax. Ironing table also provided. I think the owner may be allowing car parking as well. The owner is courteous and helpful, but don't expect a hotel-like experience. You can get food delivered, they have kept order menus or food apps will do as well. ||||Location is excellent for morning walks and decent restaurant nearby as well. ||||I would recommend this place for everyone.
I have to say I really enjoyed my stay at Corner Stay. I had a massive room, quiet and completely peaceful, which was fabulous as I had a lot of work to do. The breakfasts were great also. The owner was very helpful, especially when my auto didn't show up to take me to the bus stop, he managed to get me an Ola car. I also really liked the neighbourhood. Great walks around racecourse and nice restaurants little cafes and shops.
This was a comfortable stay - AC and fan, comfortable bed, TV in room. Very conveniently situated. Our host was helpful, offered laundry options and was accommodating for us to leave the bulk of our luggage while we did a 2 day tour. We didn't eat breakfast as we shared that with a friend nearby.
My Family of 5 took 2 rooms for a night as we had a wedding to attend. The owner Mr Muthumanickam( a nice Gentleman) stays in the Ground Floor and lets out 3 rooms on the first floor which are like apartment homestays.||||Pros:||||1. Good Location near to Race Course Road and Railway station||2. Decent sized rooms with AC and standard beds||3. Parking for a couple of cars possible||4.Quite Residential locality||5. Competitive price, given the locality||||Cons:||||1. No service at all.Nobody to attend to except the owner( though this was not a problem for us)||2. No Food service, you have to eat out. No Tea/coffee||3. The bathroom was not cleaned properly( slight stinking smell),no toileteries except a liquid soap dispenser.||||Ideal for a short visit( if the above Cons are of no consequence as it was in our case)
I was very happy to have found this place in Coimbatore as It was the perfect place for my stay. It was very nice well maintained and all the amenities where there, I had a ceiling fan and an AC unit that is jut perfect with a wireless control that allowed me to set it a my desired setting. Management was great also in assisting me with great attention to details. Oh the food was authentic South Indian food upon request, delicious
It was an amazing stay, with lovely and awesome landlords. Absolutely hygienic, with all facilities that one can think of.Location is also good. The room was very spacious and cozy. Overall, a memorable stay for me and my family.
