Vandayar Hotel

DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL - ABSOLUTE HEALTH HAZARD||I cannot stress this enough: AVOID VANDAYAR HOTEL AT ALL COSTS. Walking into our rooms was like stepping into a toxic nightmare -- the stench of black mould hit us instantly, overpowering and nauseating. It was genuinely sickening. The floors were rotting beneath our feet, the walls and corners coated with black mould, and the air felt dangerous to breathe. No one should be allowed to stay here; it's a health risk, and authorities should shut down this place.||The service? Non-existent. Staff were blaze, unresponsive, and couldn't care less about the state of the hotel or their guests' well-being.||The website and the glowing reviews? Completely FAKE and misleading. Don't be fooled. This place is NOTHING like the photos. Our group of 13 people unanimously decided to abandon our booking, sacrificing the entire cost, to get out of there and find a safer, cleaner place to stay. That's how bad it was.||For your own safety and sanity, STAY FAR AWAY from Vandayar Hotel.

Room are not that good for that price. Toilet was not clear and it smells bad. We noticed it before check-in. Informed with reception staff. 3 to 4 time but service boy came to room and said that toilet was just cleaned. And just spread room spray. Bad smell reminds same. (No lift facility) Complimentary breakfast good (7am to 9.30am) Near by Chidambaram bus stand (walkabl) 1.2 km from railway station (80rs for auto) 4 person. Veg and non veg restaurant on ground floor (little expensive) taste was good. 1.5 km to nataraja temple (80rs for auto) 4 person.

We had a very disappointing stay at this hotel. The cleanliness was unacceptable! Poor cleanliness. The first room given to us had very sticky floor. The bathroom with mold. Dirty towels and bedsheets. No wifi service in room. I wonder how this hotel got a 3 star. I do not recommend this hotel. There are far better options. Malaysians please be aware, do not stay in this hotel.

This was my second stay at this hotel since about 4~5 years ago. Conditions have changed largely. The hotel has not aged well & maintenance seems to be largely lacking. The hotel needs some investment from management to improve the maintenance.|That said, still it is a reasonable hotel considering it is right outside bus stand, railway station, parking facilities, two restaurants & not far from the temple. The facilities still exist but not well maintained. The staff are friendly and supportive to your needs. This still makes the hotel a decent stay. Complimentary breakfast was limited options but good.|Encourage the management to take some more initiatives.

Complete messy hotel and worst maintenance. restrooms were unclean, pathways were full of construction dust. Renovation goes on the same floor which causes nuisance throughout the stay. Service is VERY POOR and causes additional dissatisfaction. Cockroaches everywhere in the room, not one, many which shows how the rooms are maintained I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND FOR ANYONE. ESPECIALLY WITH KIDS AND ELDERS, STAY AWAY

Black mould, cockroaches and the lack of cleanliness, this hotel was certainly not habitable. It was nothing like the photos that were used to advertise. The staff were far from helpful too. Stay away from this one, it's unfortunately beyond a dive.

Very worst. Life time have not come across such hotel for stay. Toilet not clean AC not in condition water leaking inside the room.. Staff behavior worst. Not even listen to us. Not at all parable for stay.

The stay and food at Vandayar Hotel was exceptional. The rooms were spacious and clean. Running hot water, clean linen and toiletries. The food at the restaurant had the local flavour and was very delicious. We were a group of 25 people and special mention to the hospitality Mr Palanisami and Mr Paul.
