VV Grand

Excellent hotel to stay in W Mambalam. Not very far from airport. Rooms are neat and clean. Location a bit congested area. Good hotel staff and courteous service. Restaurant is too good with yummy food and absolutely superb service. Rates for the stay is very reasonable and GOOD VALUE FOR MONEY. Highly recommend this hotel!!

Hotel is in West Mambalam, a very local area in a big, busy city with crazy traffic. The room was a fair size, clean and everything worked. The 1st floor restaurant served veg food which was not so spicy and was good. Staff very helpful, could not do enough to help. Aruna the lovely receptionist ordered us auto's and give us lots of tips on shopping and eating non veg food. Chennai is a tough city to love but the VVGrand was our homely Oasis for a short visit. Thanks to everyone.

I booked the VV Grand based on the reviews and the photos I saw online and unfortunately, I was sorely disappointed as I had a very bad experience with this hotel. ||I was scheduled to arrive in Chennai in the early hours of the morning, and had indicated this when booking the hotel. I arrived at the hotel, which is in a residential area. There are steps which I had to walk up with a suitcase. The entrance is basically a car park, and a lift. There is no lobby. ||On arrival, two members of staff were fast asleep with duvets on the floor of the reception. I have never observed staff sleeping at work and unclear if this is typical practise in Chennai as this was my first time in India, but I was absolutely horrified and shocked. I had no choice but to wake the two, and was informed there were no rooms available and they couldn't accommodate me. Can you imagine going through this when arriving in a new country? This is after accepting my booking and making no effort to inform me and confirm that I was aware there would be no room. Given the facilities, there is absolutely no where to sit and wait, and the reception had been turned into sleeping quarters. I am not upset with the staff, I consider this a management issue. Whoever is running this 'hotel' needs to be rethink their approach to managing an organisation that invites international travellers and increase their standards. Unfortunately, I had to spend more money to pay for a new flight as there was no where else that would accomodate me with such short notice. I tried the local Holiday Inn and they were fully booked. I would not recommend this hotel and I am appalled at the service.

We had a wonderful stay at VV Grand Chennai. The hospitality went above and beyond our expectations. After checking out, we found ourselves stuck in Chennai's notorious traffic, and we were about to miss our train. The hotel staff immediately offered us a lift to the nearest station, staying in constant touch to ensure we boarded safely. In an unknown city with unfamiliar faces, helping us in a moment of need is something we will never forget.We couldn't say thank you in person, but we are truly grateful. We have stayed here twice for long durations with family and it has only been a great experience. Right from location, to food, to service to just the smells of filter coffee that you wake up to. Everything is divine. It is absolutely value for money and the kind of crowd makes one feel safe as the entire hotel is non smoking, non drinking and pure vegetarian. Highly suggest. Special props to Aruna, Ajith, Rahul and Lima Rose for taking great care of us always!

Hotel VV Grand is in a prime location in Chennai, close to all the major attractions. It's a lovely hotel with clean, spacious and comfortable rooms, also they have a fantastic veggie restaurant.The hotel's customer service is truly exceptional, staffs were fantastic, great attitude, helpful and always available. Highly recommend if anyone travelling to Chennai.

I had a fantastic stay! The staff were incredibly kind, courteous, and helpful. A special mention to the receptionist madam ( woman) staff , who was warm, welcoming, and provided excellent guidance. Room service was prompt and efficient. Overall, outstanding hospitality and service!

I had a pleasant experience during my stay in VV grand hotel ...My experience with Rahul in reception during check in and with Aruna during check out was exceptionally good...New boutique hotel clean room and high quality service and the breakfast was yummy...You are getting 5 star experience for the price of 3 star price of Rs. 2600+Tax, which includes yummy complimentary break fast, is a good bargain for the price you pay and located in the heart of Down Town chennai City........the only negative report on this hotel is the size but it is justiable for the price they charge and that too inbthw heartbof downtown I will make it a point to stay only with this hotel whenever I visit chennai in future.
