UPAR Hotels T Nagar

Nice place for short stays if having business in pondy bazaar area. I typically wake up early like 5 am and go for a walk. All those supposed to be working at front desk 24/7 keep sleeping right there everyday. Specifically told them next day I am leaving early and need to check out at 4.15 am. Only one helper was sleeping and the hotel staff that can check me out was missing. The guy was sleeping so deep I had to clap my hands hard several times near his ears to wake him up... Then he took keys from me and very likely went back to sleep as soon as I exited. Funny thing is at 2 pm after I reached my destination, someone from the hotel calls me I need to check-out. Isn't that funny or was that gross misconduct of staff? The front desk didn't know I gave the keys to the guy. I wish I got paid for sleeping.

Location is great but I feel the room is not maintained properly. Toilets, dustbins and bed linen not as clean as it should be for the amount charged. Breakfast Rs150 per person is high. Except for convenience of eating at the hotel it is not worth. Internet is poor. There was no intercom which they claimed to be available.

Disappointed with Cleanliness, but Helpful Staff I recently stayed at UPAR T. Nagar, and while the booking process on Agoda was smooth, I was quite disappointed with the cleanliness of the hotel. Upon checking in, the room was not clean, and I had to complain to the staff. It took about 2 hours and 30 minutes for the room to be cleaned, which was frustrating. However, I must commend Sreethar, who was very helpful and ensured that the issue was eventually resolved. His professionalism and assistance made the situation more bearable. While I appreciate the staff's efforts, the initial experience with the cleanliness was disappointing. I hope the hotel improves its housekeeping standards to provide a better experience for future guests.

I searched for many hotels in T nagar, after 2hrs of searching hotels, I booked this one, I was worried until i checked in to the room, After getting into the hotel i felt very happy and satisfied with their service and rooms, really I'm gonna mention this is best and most affordable hotel in this prime location.

Right spot for your luxury stay! I was here for two days of my official stay. It is located right behind the pony bazaar and it is a very good location. And the ambitious is really nice. Very clean and hygiene rooms. The staff was really polite and helpful. Thank you very much guys

Good value for money - (Rs 2000-2500 per night + taxes) Pros: The hotel is located at a great place likely a midpoint in T. Nagar. The rooms are spacious and the shower is heavenly. Good quality toiletries and no sound overnight. Cons:. They don't act upon their no smoking rule, the corridor sometimes reeks of smoke smell, luckily you won't find it inside room. The Breakfast is average at best, being in Chennai and that too in T. Nagar, they got basics like Idly Vada and upma wrong. Had to order from outside as the vendor from whom the hotel outsources is horrible and it starts only at 8 am. It is terribly understaffed I think. To provide me with 3 eating plates, I finished my whole dinner before they came. The service is slow and lethargic although it is done at the end of the day. One of the rooms I took was very dirty before but they changed everything once informed and no dental kits are provided. Can take the hotel for short to medium stay, it is comfortable enough and being in a epicenter, most of the things are easily accessible here.

The hotel does not match the portrayal in its pictures. The rooms look significantly different from the impression given in the images. Although the hotel is only 4 years old, the rooms and facilities resemble a lodge rather than a proper hotel. Cleanliness was a major issue. While the front desk and walkways were clean, the rooms were very dusty, and the washroom was poorly maintained. There were visible stains on the towels and washroom walls. We booked three rooms (111, 112, and 104), and all were in poor condition: * The mattresses had sunk. * The water heaters were not functioning. * The air conditioning was weak. * The rooms felt cramped and congested. The staff was unhelpful, especially during the night shifts. They struggled to understand our concerns and were dismissive when we complained about the cleanliness. One staff member rudely stated that the hotel is a 3-star, not a 4-star, as if that justified the poor service. Customer feedback and requests were blatantly ignored. The breakfast experience was also disappointing. Plates and cups were not clean, adding to the overall dissatisfaction. Management appears to be running the hotel like a lodge, which is unacceptable for its rating. The lack of professionalism, poor facilities, and neglectful service make this hotel a poor choice.

I used to stay there regularly but the recent visit was very disappointing. Service staff response to requests were very poor. No laundry towel provided for after room cleaning and every time had to call reception, mostly not answered by staff. One day towel was given at 11 am and raising doubts about the cleanliness of towels given to us after few reminders! Most service personnel speak only hindi and did not give proper response. Requesting mgt to seriously review to improve to meet the basic needs first.
