The Park Royal Hotel (Chennai)

Immediately after I entered I was not sure why this place had so many good reviews. Read until the end to find out. Room is outdated, almost everything made of metal is rusty (handles, bin, etc). Bathroom is small and stinky, as the water never flows completely down the drain, the smell spreads to the room as well if the door is not closed (we were told by the staff nothing can be done about it and received an air freshener). At first we got just one towel (for a double room) and we had to ask for a second one. Also there was no wifi password in the room (would be much easier to have it printed on the wall or something). There wasn't even a soap to wash your hands. Mosquitoes always in the room. Dirty air fan. Some positives: We appreciate that they let us check in 1h early and leave our bags after check out. Also there was hot water in the shower and very good water pressure. However WiFi was poor, sometimes the signal would disappear which disturbed our remote work. The worst thing is that 1hour after we checked out we received a notification from booking thanking us for a review we didn't write (positive of course). It must've been the hotel who wrote it, because during the check in they took our phone to check the booking ID (and the pin apparently) which allows you to log in and leave a review. Then we realized there were more similar reviews, probably all fake. We confronted the staff when we went to pick up the bags and they pretended they didn't know what we were talking about. Maybe they have a bot installed? Watch out.

I booked this hotel by oyo app... When I checked out, that reception person ask me to open oyo app.. then he picked my phone and with out my permission he mentioned 5 star in oyo app.. He behaviour is unacceptable... Overall service very poor... No proper room service.. room maintenance is very poor... Very bad experience, don't booked this hotel.

They write booking.com reviews on your behalf. How they do it? Simple as that: While checking in, we showed them booking ID from the app, they noted down PIN number which is next to it on the screen. After that, if you have both, the website allows you to manage your booking, even without logging in into your account. Once we checked out, they used that and wrote a "10" review, I got the email notification about it! It was some random transaltor/ai gibberish that praised their hotel. Obviously they denied that practice. If you look up their reviews on booking, many of those 10s are a nonsense made like that. I know I shouldn't have shown them PIN number, but you'd never think a property could do some skewed thing like that. STAY AWAY FOR YOUR DEAR LIFE! About our their hotel: Dirty room, including walls, ceilling, floor with hair on it, extremely dusted fan Limited hot water, boiler barely worked, inconsistent all the time The room smelled like ass, because their drainage system is so bad that all the smells come inside the room Awful bathroom, everything wet all the time, a lot od mosquitos flying through the wall gaps Outlets only from one side of the bed Humid at all times Gave us only one towel I'm leaving aside all the positives, because of my lost trust to this property, you'd think it's 21st century, but they are really stupid enough to cheat their way into good reviews.

You get according to the charges. If you are looking for a family stay and having kids along, you need facilities like helpline reception or amenities like TV ,Wifi, this is not the right place. Its ideal for single male occupancy or unmarried couples. The staff was helpful. But it seemed somewhere they dint hv the resources from the management. Earlier OYO rooms were far better than what OYO is providing now. There should be more clarity regarding the actual availability of services from what the Description claims to provide.

Today the service was very poor we use to come regular in this place and today we booked the room and when we reach the location they are telling us all the room is full and the reception he was very rude I didn't expect this we are very upset

Room was very clean. Services were good.Recommend others to visit. The hotel is situated in heart of the city. Very well hotel in Chennai

Excellent location, easy access to local shops, near by merina beach. Super stay , groups of friends can love this hotel, friendly front office, will come again
