Henkala Hotels

This place has been closed for business for sin e Covid days. While the physical property is still there, any use of it is questionable without renovation.

First off, this hotel is over 20 years old. That is evident everywhere - from the reception, to the restaurant, and to the rooms. The one plus point is its location - close to the Tambaram bus depot and the railway station. The room was sufficiently spacious and neat. The bathroom was usable and functional. There was a window AC that did cool the room sufficiently well. The restaurant serves tasty food - we had lunch with juices and found all items to be really good. Overall, a bargain for roughly 1000 rupees a night, if you don't want too much.

If you are looking for a place that has access to all basic needs and is low in price this is the go hotel. We hosted our son's birthday party here. The food offered was of great taste and price was absolutely fine, in fact manager helped us decide between choosing 2 buffet menu they had. I was surprised to see someone say people will not eat everything please don't waste your money. The party hall was very modesty decorated partly because I didn't spend too much money partly because the place is real old and needs a good facelift The parking space was low anyway Train station and Bus stop was so near that most doesn't require one. If you happen to have people coming in car can you use Bhakthavatsalam street to park on (rear entrance).

I called and reserved a room 2 weeks prior, and confirmed with them one day before arriving. When I arrived there with my old parents and two young kids, I was shocked that they told me there is no booking at all in my name. I showd them the call history, they told that its not their number, I called to that number on the spot and the phone is ringing in the reception. Then they said someone might have attended the call and didn't reserve properly..... The argument went on.... They were keep on arguing and telling some contradictory things. I understood that they are lying and cheating. Finally I had to leave with my whole family looking for other hotel.... Its one of the painful and worst experience I have faced. NOT RECOMMENDED FOR ANYONE. Its not even worth of 1 star.

But, definitely not now. Avoid at all costs.

Not at all maintained, all rooms are dirty, bed spreads with bad smell. washrooms worst. front office and reception are also dirty. worst food a health hazard. Stains every where. no wifi & no lift. british style, mogal style all are worst. .location and the present tariffs are the only consolations. Thought food was provided by Bhat's bhojan but not true.

Hotel gives you the least services but it is giving you stay in an AC room in 800+taxes.||Breakfast is OK other food is also not so good but u have few hotels near by.Its worth staying in Henkala. Rooms are spacious and bus stand near by. I am a regular customer of Henkala.

Hotel Henkala is my favourite in West Tambaram Chennai for stay, not by choice but, so far by no choice of location close to bus station and train station..It has now become more affordable..with reduced tariff: excluding tax: A/C single 1000 and double 1200 with non a/c at 700 and 800 approx..advance booking must. No complimentary breakfast..no newspaper..no frills..hotel remains the same with no considerable improvement over 6- years..location and parking is the advantage..vegetarian restaurant attached
