This is not a review, but rather an account of our experience at this property. First, the staff here are extremely polite and friendly, especially Mr. John, who once managed this property. He greeted us with a smile and provided the best hospitality I have ever experienced. Second, the rooms and ambiance are very clean, hygienic, and well-maintained. Third, the food quality, quantity, and taste are top-notch, yet still affordable. I particularly loved the dining hall located on the top floor with a beautiful view. The food truly felt like homemade meals. Last but not least, I must mention that the day after we went sightseeing, my bike jammed in an untowered area, and we were stuck there. We had no idea what to do next. I simply messaged Mr. John asking for help, and he immediately arranged for a mechanic to repair my bike. We will never forget his help. His responsiveness and willingness to assist made us feel like we were receiving support from family at this property. I highly recommend that you try this property at least once in your life. **Misleading Reviews - Disappointing Stay at Tree Elanza Hotel, Kodaikanal** I booked Tree Elanza Hotel for a 3-day stay based on the positive reviews on Google and Agoda. Unfortunately, the experience didn't match the ratings at all, and I ended up leaving a day early. We had booked a duplex room, but on arrival, we were told it wasn't available. Instead, we were given a triple cot bedroom -- and still charged an extra 500 per day. The room was nowhere near as spacious or attractive as shown in the photos online. To make things worse, there is no power backup. One morning, the power went out mid-bath, and water supply was also disrupted. We had to use bottled Bisleri water to finish bathing. Though the in-charge, Mr. Manikandan, eventually fixed the issue, such a situation shouldn't happen in the first place. The hotel is also located far from the main Kodaikanal town -- about 5 km away -- and each cab trip to and from the town costs 500-600, which quickly adds to your expenses. Overall, we were neither comfortable nor pleased with our stay. I genuinely don't understand how this place has such good reviews online. I would not recommend Tree Elanza Hotel. If you're planning a trip to Kodaikanal, it's much better to book a place closer to the main town to avoid inconveniences like these.

Small cramps rooms but no complaints on that for the price they charge. But the rooms are dirty (especially the wooden floor) and the toilet cleanliness is mediocre. Perhaps all they need to do is simply do a proper deep cleaning and change the beds (they are too old), earn 5 star reviews.

Room quality needs improvement, but service is great and staff Suresh is helpful. It's about 10-12 mins from Kodai center, which is fine with a vehicle, but backpackers might have difficulty. Overall, a nice budget option.

Overall good experience in this hotel, booked room for 2 days. Food is decent.Still to improve the room clean service daily and I expect fan also so that smell doesn't stay in the room while we there.
