HOTEL AMBA REGENCY - Hotel And Restaurant In Gangtok

We used this hotel as a transit hotel. Turned out that this is a very old hotel from the interior. The Deluxe room are in the basement. The bathroom tap was leaking. The water heater in the bathroom was broken. We ordered food from restaurant and it was very poorly prepared. We went for morning breakfast but didn't eat after taking look in to the melted liquid butter. Not satisfied with hotel and the 3 star category for the hotel is not justified.

Stayed at Hotel amba regency for first time and availed deluxe room with complimentary dinner. There are some positive as well as negative points for Amba regency. Hotel is cheaper and having good ambience especially roof top restaurant. Few staff are cordial and supportive. Now coming to negative points- Hotel service is little slower in terms of customer service. If you are booking this hotel with complimentary dinner you need to think twice.. As this hotel does not provide you choice to opt for dinner.. It will serve you daal rice sabji and chapati as dinner. Like you are paying for typical thali. Service provided to guest who is paying at the restaurant is much better than the one who has booked room with complimentary dinner. So overall the hotel management needs to think twice and stop this discrimination. Staff are good but they are not getting support from their management hence they also do same think which they are asked to do. Overall hotel is average for those who is looking to stay for a day with economical price. But if you are booking room with family that also with complimentary dinner for a trip, please think twice as they will treat you as beggars.

I booked super deluxe rooms which is underground. The rooms are not same which is shown in the pictures. Very old rooms with conjested bathroom, no exhaust fan, smelly. Room service is average. If you tell anything in the reception they won't bother. They have rooftop restaurant with mountain view.

The thing is you get it in a budget that is good , but the service is poor , they can't even arrange for a set top box , though they provide you with a TV set . Even you got to ask for the tea kit and the washroom wasn't up to the mark. But yes the food was great , the breakfast and also the overall food quality was really good

Worst room. No ventilation. Room size is small and they don't provide the room as mentioned in Goibibo. Horrible experience. Please don't go by reviews. All are fake

Pros: Good Location (walking distance from MG road & other markets), spacious rooms, cheaper than neighboring hotels. Cons: Maintenance is the biggest issue here. Sofa covers look dirty, rooms may smell like cigarette once you enter (one tourist was complaining once we enter), in our room TV didn't work, water glass was broken, there was no electric kettle (they provided next day after many requests), and sometime tap water goes dry!! Verdict: If you can compromise with some maintenance issues, you get a hotel with big rooms in a very convenient location at a comparably lower rate. If you can't compromise with little issues with maintenance, go for other hotels.

Hotel Restaurant is awesome but service is quite poor, Rooms r without fan... OK OK experience
