#1 Sungava Resort - Hotel In Gangtok

Excellent Stay at Sungava Resort! I recently had the pleasure of staying at Sungava Resort, and it was a truly delightful experience from start to finish. The location is simply perfect - serene, scenic, and an ideal getaway from the hustle of city life. The cleanliness across the property is commendable - everything from the rooms to the common areas was spotless and well-maintained. The room condition was also impressive, with all amenities in top shape and the ambience offering a warm, cozy comfort. A special mention to Praveen, whose hospitality is truly top-notch. He went out of his way to ensure we were comfortable and well looked after - his attention to detail and welcoming attitude made all the difference.

Location wise good, far from the crowd. 10minutes drive from MG market, local taxis are always available, charging 200 rupees/ cab. The rooms are neat and clean. You get a good view of the main Gangtok city from the balcony. The food was good in taste. One of the staff named praveen was always at service and ready to help. He made sure our stay was comfortable. Only cons is : whenever you order for lunch, either the chef is not available or they will say the chef is taking rest. But on request, they had managed to serve our lunch. This thing must be look into.

During our recent 7-day trip covering Darjeeling and Sikkim, Sungava Spa & Resort in Gangtok, recommended by our tour operator We Trekkers, stood out as the most memorable and satisfying stay of the entire journey. Out of the three accommodations we stayed in during this trip, Sungava was the only one that offered a truly spacious bathroom equipped with 24x7 hot water availability--including hot water from the washbasin tap, which was a rare and highly appreciated feature in such altitudes. The rooms were tastefully done in a rustic, woody theme that exuded charm and warmth, instantly making us feel at home. The ambience of the resort was cozy, homely, and very welcoming. The beautifully maintained garden and the soothing sound of the fountain created a serene backdrop that added to the peacefulness of our stay. Every corner of the resort is aesthetically curated--perfect for taking Pinterest-worthy photos that capture the essence of the place. A heartfelt appreciation goes out to Mr. Arpan and Mr. Praveen from the housekeeping team for their exceptional service--from handling our luggage with care to ensuring prompt room service. Their kindness and efficiency made our stay incredibly comfortable. The warm and courteous receptionist, Mrs. Anita, also deserves special mention for her constant support and hospitality throughout our stay. We had made a last-minute request for a bonfire, and the team arranged it without hesitation. That evening truly became a highlight of our trip and left us with unforgettable memories. The in-house dining was another standout feature. All meals were freshly cooked according to our preferences, and the quality, taste, quantity, and affordability of the food exceeded our expectations. In fact, we didn't feel the need to dine outside even once during our three-day stay. What's more, the staff kindly offered to heat and serve our own food--a thoughtful gesture not often extended in many resorts. Overall, the hospitality, cleanliness, comfort, and warmth offered by Sungava Spa & Resort made it feel like home away from home. It's no exaggeration to say that I still miss being there, and if I ever return to Sikkim, Sungava will undoubtedly be my first choice. I highly recommend Sungava Spa & Resort to anyone looking for a premium yet homely experience in Gangtok.

A great hotel for staying with your family and friends. We stayed for 3 nights. Service is too good and the staff are polite prompt and friendly. Mr. Pravin was great with his service and also thank mr. satish for helping is with the rooms as we had senior citizens with us. Their breakfast buffet had different options every day and the quality of food was good. I strongly recommend this hotel for anyone travelling to gangtok.

The room was clean, spacious, and beautifully furnished, offering a perfect balance of comfort and style. The location was ideal, close to local attractions yet peaceful and relaxing. We recently stayed at sungava resort @Gangtok, and it was an unforgettable experience. Tucked away in hills, this resort offers breathtaking Panasonic views of the surroundings mountains and valleys, making it a perfect getaway for nature lovers. Location: The resort is located a little away from the hustle and bustle of Gangtok's city centre, which adds to the serenity. The roads leading to the resort is a bit winding, but the views along the way make it all worth it. The resort is still close enough to the attractions in Gangtok, like MG road, so it's convenient if you are looking to explore. Accommodation: The rooms are clean, spacious and well appointed, with large windows that offered spectacular view of the Gangtok city. The decor was tasteful, with the blend of modern amenities and tradition Sikkim styles decor items. The rooms are equipped with all the necessary amenities like TV, hot shower, bath tub, hair dryer, electric eater kettle that satisfies our needs. Service: The staff at resort were and welcoming. They are always ready to help the guests with their fruitful hospitality with great recommendation for local sightseeing. The checkin and check out process for the stay is totally smooth. Food: When coming to food, we most possibly expect to explore delicious food. Well you are in good hands, the resort offers a restaurant with both local and international cuisines with limited options with supreme taste. They offer delicious, fresh and flavourful dishes with local breads, fresh fruits and complimentary cold drinks.

We recently stayed in the hotel during our Sikkim-Darjeeling tour and we loved our stay here. Location was little far from Mall road but we enjoyed the view, service and hospitality. It has been done beautifully with lots of flowers and food was amazing. Despite being in Sikkim we never missed our usual food. Staff was courteous and helpful and helped us in anywhich manner they could. They have one bar in the hotel itself and we did try it once, it was cozy and picturesque. There are many shops around just outside the hotel and you can buy anything you need for daily use like soap, shampoo or even booze. We had very good stay here and we loved the place and people there. Praveen our help was more than help and was very accommodating of our requests. We will definitely recommend this to everyone visiting gangtok. This resort was lucky for us as we got to see Nathula on the day planned and without any issues.

I stayed in this resort for one day n honestly it is a very nice place ,peaceful. One thing that i really liked is that there was lots of greenery and flowers. The view was awesome with clean big rooms. The buffet breakfast was yummy. I highly recommend anyone coming to gangtok to stay here.
