Base category rooms -Palace rooms - right in front of reception, city view. We were fortunate to get accommodation for our group of 6 families on last notice. Mr Deepak at front desk was very courteous and helpful through check-in process. Hotel is part of the palace, and within a walking distance straight into main City palace museum which is open late till 9 pm. Being a guest there, you can walk around lake front area, visit nearby garden, climb up the terrace of the hotel to get excellent sunset views over Lake Pichola. We used the center pool and had a sumptuous breakfast the next day. Being a Jain food family we requested some items in jain preparation but we were denied because they weren't aware of our preferences a night beforehand, that was a bummer but chef did prepare plan Dosa for us. Overall very pleasant experience at HRH Shiv Niwas palace.

One word can describe Shiv Navas Palace hotel 'Majestic'. The Royal family stay in part of the Palace. What makes this palace hotel so special though is the people. The people are so kind and generous. They go beyond hospitality to serve you. It's because it is still the royal palace so you will actually feel like royalty yourself. What an incredible experience.||When the managers knew this was our honey moon we were upgraded to the Royal suite which was so generous. The room is huge with panoramic views of the lake and mountains. The palace is steeped in history. A super tasty congratulation cake was also sent to our room.||A special thanks to Mr Rahul Paliwal the front office manager. He told us so much about the hotel. He invited us for Holi at the palace and our stay was so incredible we are booking for another 8 days.||We met Mr Adityaveer Singh the vice president of hotel operation too who was so humble and kind.||Our room had the most beautiful fresh flower arrangements throughout. Our doors opened out onto the most stunning court yard and swimming pool. We had chai and dinner in the court yard. It has a wonderful tree too and the most stunning wall of bougainvillea flowers. The grounds, lawns and all areas were so sumptuous. It was pure luxury. All the paintings were stunning with so much history.||The restaurant is stunning. The most delicious breakfast and dinner is available.||It's only a 2 minute walk to the lake palace and so many attractions.||One day the prince was even having afternoon tea on the lawn in front of our room with other dignitaries.||We would like to give a special thanks to the following:-||Sohanlal Who took care of our every need at breakfast:) He delivered beautifully prepared Chai and cappuccinos to our room and terrace around the pool. It always came with tasty cookies.||Hires and Dinesh who gave us chocolates esch evening at turn down night service. They always made sure you had plenty of water and the luxurious toiletries.||Nirbhya- The waiter on evening was brilliant together with Vishal.||Jagdish was so happy and worked night shift.||Devendra very nice man from reception||Pratap worked here 35 years very nice man brought me chai for breakfast to my room. He will retire in 2 years may he have a long and happy healthy peaceful retirement.||Pushkar the nice room service man.||Phinda was always on duty at breakfast and very helpful.||Abhimanyu amazing man from reception who showed us the rooms||Jitendra was the life guard and kept everything so organised||Chamanlal - Cleaner||Ramesh the driver of the cart took us nicely from the lake to our door.||We are sorry if we have not written your name but you are all excellent, full of grace and beautiful character. The cleaners, gardeners, reception, and waiters to mention but a few of the departments were all incredible.||I hope one day you will also have the blessing to stay here. Our stay was truly memorable.||Love Andrew and Ruby.

From beginning to end the team exceeded our expectations. The room was magnificent. We had a royal suite but had no idea just how beautiful it would be. Breakfast was fabulous. Lalu Ram took great care of us. Miss Phinol asked the kitchen for special meals for our daughter who is vegan. |At dinner khuldeep Rathore's service was impeccable and the food was delicious.

We adored the 36-room Shiv Niwas Hotel and you will, too. Adjacent to the City Palace it is quiet and quaint and the heritage property is lovely. ||Staff at checkin were quick but thorough. We received a welcome gift and drink. A front desk clerk accompanied us to show us our room, a balcony suite that had not one but two balconies, one with a partial view of the lake. It was very comfortable and we enjoyed sitting on the balcony. Because the hotel is part of City Palace complex, no horn honking is allowed, so you are in a tranquil part of India. ||We ate breakfast both days in the restaurant and it was good, both buffet and eggs and other items to order. We enjoyed the included cappuccino as well. At lunch we were the only guests there and had a nice conversation with our waiter, Sohanlal, who has worked for the hotel for 36 years. It says a lot about a hotel to have such loyal staff. ||In the Panera Bar we again were the only guests, and enjoyed cocktails while watching the sunset. The bartender, from Nepal, can seemingly make any cocktail. He, too, was a joy to talk to. There bar itself is attractively decorated so I'm adding a photo. ||In the restaurant they told us that weekday lunches are slow, and in the bar only guests frequent the place so you'll have no trouble getting in either. We did see more people at dinner but didn't eat dinner in the hotel ||The housekeeping staff was very good. We shall miss kind Veeram who did our turndown service. ||But the front desk gets the highest marks. They went out of their way to help us in any way they could, including arranging for a pharmacy to deliver a medication for me. In particular I would cite Devendra and his concierge colleague whose name I'm afraid I forgot. ||Great hotel. Great service. Great stay. Sorry to leave.

If you're a tourist from abroad then I highly recommend this place to stay. Our few days here were a fabulous experience. We stayed in the Terrace Suite and it was spacious with 2 balconies. The room service was divine! Every item from the menu was superb. The room was cleaned every day while our stay and they would leave cute packages of chocolate for us. Their breakfast had a huge variety of India and continental food items and if something wasn't there you could make special requests and the chefs would make it for you. Just a few blocks down was the City Palace which you could pay a small fee and get a tour guide to show you around. The only downside of this palace is the shops there were overly expensive. If you really want to buy stuff it's better to go outside the palace otherwise you're paying 3x more for the price of the items that you can get outside for cheaper.

Fantastic service. Dinner restaurant was exquisite and enjoyed watching the bats from the rooftop. |Enjoyed walking around the grounds of the city palace and the free golf carts around the complex were a huge bonus. The room is very spacious and gets made up twice a day. Will definitely return

Unbelievable level of service, sophistication and the Hotel rooms. Best of best in class of Palace . Special thanks to Kuldip Rathod and Sohanlalji were instrumental in making our stay very very comfortable. Mr. Mahip , the food & Beverage Manager was instrumental in arranging special event dinner exclusive set up with Decoration, music and unbelievable special fusion food menu just made for us.
