Location only Hill Top otherwise Disappointing Experience I had a very disappointing stay at this hotel. The only positive of this hotel is its location but that too can be enjoyed only if they give you a lake facing room. In our case, they allotted corner-most rooms with no good view. The whole staff right from reception to restaurant was extremely arrogant and unhelpful, showing little concern for guests' needs. They take more than half an hour in basic formalities like check in and check out. What was even more upsetting was the clear discrimination--they treated foreign guests with much more attention and respect while ignoring others. The food was another major letdown. It lacked flavor, freshness, and variety leave alone quality and taste. Our 2 year old baby had food poisoning due to spoiled milk served in the bottle. Additionally, this hotel is not family or kid-friendly at all. There are no proper facilities for children, and the overall atmosphere is unwelcoming for families. If you're traveling with kids or looking for a comfortable and respectful environment, I would strongly advise choosing a different hotel. Overall, I do not recommend this place to anyone looking for good service, decent food, or a welcoming atmosphere. There are far better options available for the same price.

I had a fantastic experience at Hotel Hilltop Palace! The location is perfect, offering stunning views of the city and lake. The staff was incredibly hospitable, ensuring a comfortable and memorable stay. The rooms were clean, spacious, and well-maintained, providing all the necessary amenities. The restaurant served delicious food with a great variety of options. The ambiance, combined with the scenic surroundings, made it a perfect place to relax. Highly recommended for anyone visiting the area! Will definitely visit again.

This has always been my favourite place to stay in Udaipur since 2008. I was posted in Rajasthan and I used to frequently visit Udaipur. It was after a long time I visited this place with my family.. When we were married in 2010, i brought my wife in 2011. This time we relived the moments. We showed the roof top to our son where we had pictures in 2011. Food was great as always. The location is super. The only thing I did not like is that they do not upgrade the stay despite slow season and lot of vacant rooms. We requested for a lake facing room upgrade but they did not allow. I recommend to stay here for a relaxing evening and a sumptuous lunch/dinner.

I recently stayed at this hotel, and while the property itself is excellent and the food was very good, my experience was badly affected by one particular staff member -- a man with a big moustache -- whose behavior was completely unacceptable and unprofessional. On multiple occasions, I asked him to send someone to take my order, as there was no staff member present in the restaurant area. I approached him three times, and each time he just said, "Yes, yes, I will," but never actually did anything. Eventually, I went to the back myself and spoke to another staff member who politely explained that no one had informed him. When I went back to the moustache guy and asked why, he casually replied, "Oh, I forgot." Honestly, you don't forget three times. That's not a mistake -- that's someone deliberately ignoring a guest. If you don't want to work, stay home. Guests come here to enjoy and receive proper service -- not to be treated like they're invisible. To make things worse, this staff member was openly using his phone during duty hours -- scrolling through Instagram while standing right in front of guests and his department. If he wants to take a break and use his phone, he should do it somewhere appropriate, not while ignoring guests who are clearly waiting to be served. It's completely unprofessional and reflects very poorly on the hotel's service standards. I've already reported this matter to the general manager, but I strongly urge the managing director and hotel leadership to take serious action. One staff member like this can ruin the entire guest experience and damage the hotel's reputation. Because of this one individual, I am giving the hotel only one star. Without him, my stay would have been fantastic. I hope the hotel takes this feedback seriously and ensures that no other guest is treated this way again.

Although the location is a bit farther from City Palace and Lake, the peaceful surroundings made it a perfect retreat away from the busy city. Overall, it's a great place for families or anyone looking for a comfortable stay with amazing views. Highly recommend and would definitely return!

The hotel is in a prime location, with major tourist attractions, good restaurants, and cafes close by. However, as the name Hill Top suggests, it is situated on an elevation, so walking up isn't ideal--you'll need a car to get around.||The rooms on the fourth floor (new wing) are modern and well-maintained, but the older rooms on other floors are quite rundown. If you're booking here, request a fourth-floor room for a better experience. Additionally, opt for a lake-view room--the view is stunning! However, the hotel tends to pre-assign these in advance, so make sure to specifically mention it while booking to secure one.||The hotel is reasonably priced, but the service is a major downside. The staff is extremely rude and unhelpful, outright refusing requests and even shouting at guests. This wasn't just our experience--I noticed the same treatment towards other customers as well.||The breakfast is mediocre, so I'd suggest skipping it and heading to the old city for an authentic Rajasthani breakfast instead.||Overall, this hotel is worth considering only for its location, affordability, and lake-view rooms--but be prepared for poor service and make sure to request a newer room in advance.

You can either hire local cabs or rent a bike as per your need to move around the area. Overall, it's a good place for families or anyone looking for a comfortable stay with amazing views. Highly recommend and would definitely return!

The hotel is good BUT beware of one fact about the location. It's near a restaurant that plays loud music on terrace till late at night. You cannot sleep in your room due to this such loud, annoying music from the neighborhood. Therefore, despite the good quality of this hotel, I won't be staying here ever again.
