This may have been our highlight of our 4 week tour of India. As a family of 5 adults we were keen to see life from a village viewpoint. We booked Suroth Mahal directly after reading about it online and were not sure what we were in for. From the moment of arrival, and his team welcomed us so kindly and made sure we were well fed and well entertained every step of the way. The cooking display, dancing, wrestling, rooftop cricket and village trip by camel cart the next morning were all amazing. Talking about life in India and Suroth in particular with was so interesting. We learnt so much. We would al highly recommend this as a unique stay in a beautiful place with some amazing people. Thank you!!

This is an interesting property in a friendly village. We had a huge room with an enormous bathroom, but little warm water. The common areas are clean and inviting, especially the roof top where we enjoyed several very expensive drinks (ask the price first!). Dinner was fine but breakfast as sparse and not very tasty. Nice stop ,but no need to stay more than one night.
We had the most wonderful stay. Our tour group of 12 were warmly welcomed and we were shown to our beautiful rooms. We had drinks on the rooftop watching the beautiful sunset. We were then dressed by the local women, was really special, and we enjoyed an evening of food and dancing. |The family were so gracious, sharing their stories and introducing their pets to us! It really is more than a hotel stay, it is a fantastic cultural experience.
I thoroughly enjoyed my overnight stay at the Suroth Mahal. Banu our host was extremely friendly and hospitable, as were all of the staff. 12 of us visited as part of a tour with Intrepid and were being very well looked after by our guide Harshita.||The hotel is a lot more interesting and personal than the other hotels we stayed in during our trip. It had so much unique character, with vibrant colours in the lobby seating area, lovely courtyard and large, comfortable bedrooms full of family history. ||The views from the rooftop gardens were amazing as it was the highest building in the town and Banu delighted in telling us a lot of his family's history one evening whilst we enjoyed the views and atmosphere.||The food was authentic and plentiful and the dining room overlooked the courtyard. We were entertained by dancers in the evening, which everyone enjoyed and joined in with little need for encouragement.||I will definitely return one day to see Banu and to enjoy walking amongst the very friendly local people, where playing some cricket with the local boys from the town on a piece of rough ground which was clearly a cricket pitch was a wonderful highlight. ||A great place to visit authentic India with no tourist trappings.||
Amazing courtyard when you enter the building. Rooms face onto to it, so you have to be sure you close your door well. Staff exceptionally friendly. The atmosphere is unique and very traditional. Breakfast was good. They had live music and we took a camel cart from the door.
The hotel is absolutely stunning and the staff is very kind and friendly. I spent one night there and they put on a dance show and cooking demonstration, and the day after took us for a camel ride, followed by a walk at the local village. Food was a small selection of vegetarian and chicken based dishes but tasty. The rooms are stunning and unique, each one is different. |I certainly recommend to stay there when at the area.
I came as part of a group tour and we had the best time! All of the staff were amazing and looked after us the whole time, we got dressed in traditional wear and danced in the garden. The food was beautiful and the hotel itself WOW such an amazing experience to stay in such a historic place, something i will never forget
When we got there, seeing the imposin entrance and the fascinating architecture, we thought at first it was an ancient palace to visit in our guided tour of Rajastan.|It was our hotel and it was much better than words can describe. A closed-in courtyard with painted columns and a fountain, brightly coloured silk curtains, frescoes and reliefs. |The room was very large, with a four poster bed with a silk blanket on top and seemingly ancient furniture.|The hotel even has a small in house temple, holding ceremonies in which guests can partecipate.|The atmosphere is altogether peaceful and charming.|Personnel is extremely kind and helpful.|Most decidedly a MUST.
