Kharwa fort homestay is a 500 years old ancient fort converted into a comfortable homestay. The family owning the fort is the 17th generation residing there. Very courteous host. Mrs. Jyoti and her daughter Niharika are very polite and caring. We had lovely conversation at the breakfast table. We checked in at about 10 in the night yet Mrs. Jyoti personally showed us to our room. Rooms are beautifully made and well maintained. The access appears to be very isolated but it's very safe nonetheless. Rooms are abundantly spacious. Breakfast and meals are all home made so it has that extra secret ingredient of love that you cannot find in hotels or restaurants. Parking is within the premises and safe / secured. Definitely worth staying here. I will for sure stay at Kharwa fort sometime in near future.

We really enjoyed staying at Kharwa fort. The room is really lovely, spacious and comfortable. Jyoti's cooking is delicious, and we enjoyed our chats with her and Shyam, who are both great hosts. Being picked up from Beowar in the open jeep was a treat. It is a great opportunity to stay with a family in their historic fort, and the local villagers were friendly and happy to have us wandering around. Would really recommend a sty here to experience a side of India that you don't see in the bigger centres.
We stayed for two days and enjoyed ourselves immensely. The hospitality of the owners was beyond expectation. The room was large, the bed comfortable, and the shower hot. We also had a rooftop terrace to oursleves for relaxing in the sun. Jyoti's cooking was by far the best we've had in India. The town itself is very small and we soon knew most of the people. We were continually invited in for chai and had a great time meeting new friends. Jyoti and Shyam are the perfect hosts and it was great learning about the history of the fort and the family!
This was such an interesting place to stay, with a family who have been resident in the Fort for generations. They were so generous with their time and we learned so much about India and their lives. The room was absolutely beautiful too, right next to the small temple where we could hear singing for the ceremonies there. The included breakfast was exceptional, and the set meal dinner was excellent as well. Wish we could have stayed more than a single night.||Kharwa is a really small village, and while it was interesting to walk around there would not be a lot to do for a prolonged stay. However, the hostess Jyoti is able to organise a variety of outings in the area. The village is quite close to the main road and there is a little traffic noise. Note that while the facilities are fine and appropriate for a historical building, it would not suit those looking for 5-star facilities.
If you dream of experiencing staying at a century old Rajput fort in rural Rajasthan then kharwa fort homestay meets it. With exceptional care by the patrons Thakur shamsingh ji and thakur ani jyoti di. Room is spacious and located within the fort which is close to highway. Parking is available. The food is sumptuous with food staple from thier farm. Delicacies served are mouth-watering. One can take a walk in thier farm and also experience village life. A memorable stay.
Most comfortable stay outside of home! Summed up by our 9 year old son for our short but beautiful stay at the Kharwa fort. The old time charm of the fort combined with the well appointed rooms was an ideal combination for travellers looking to relive royalty without the hassles of a chaotic uptight hotel. Excellent enroute location for visits to Ajmer, Pushkar, Udaipur, Jodhpur in the quintessential Rajput style. Great hosts who genuinely spend quality time and make the stay truly special and worthy to be called a homestay ... Enchanting stories of the Rajput family, beautiful fort sections, awesome home cooked food, unnervingly peaceful mornings, village life upclose and personal ... ||Definitely a highly recommended stay for a relaxed yet scintillating stay and look forward to making more trips!
My sister and I (both in our young 70s) spent two weeks travelling around Rajasthan in November with a brief of "Forts, Palaces and Homestays". We were fortunate to be booked into Kharwa Fort where we were treated to true Rajasthani hospitality. The bedroom was huge and lovely but the bathroom took a bit of getting used to - perfectly clean and huge but the water from the basin drained straight into a gully around the walls and the shower was not enclosed and again, water straight onto floor. However, these were minor negative points when compared to the friendliness of our hosts who regaled us with wonderful stories of the grand days of the Raj. We came away with magical pictures in our minds of a gold-clad elephant taking our host to his wedding where he and his wife-to-be would meet for the very first time and of tigers chasing a hunting party down a hillside where they escaped up a tree! Breakfast and dinners were amazing. If you like out of the ordinary then please make the trip to Kharwa.
Full of history, interesting details and also with very kind and generous hosts. A beautiful decorated room with comfortable bed and a lot of ambience. We would love to come back and highly recommend this place if you want to stay in a historic home with charm, mystery and experience some of the genuine India. Extra plus for delicious home made food for both breakfast and dinner.
