Bissau Palace is one of Jaipur's oldest hotels, offering a glimpse into a bygone era with its antique decor, vintage photographs, and even a classic car proudly displayed in the lobby. The grand guest registration book at reception adds to the old-world charm, making the check-in experience unique and memorable.||Heritage & Atmosphere:|The hotel is undeniably rich in history, with its regal interiors and an impressive collection of artifacts. However, time has taken its toll. While the charm of an old building is undeniable, the lack of upkeep is evident, with dust accumulating in various corners and an overall sense of neglect in the rooms.||Rooms & Comfort:|The vintage aesthetic is appealing, but the cleanliness leaves much to be desired. Guests may find that furnishings and amenities show signs of age and wear. The low water pressure in the shower was also an inconvenience, diminishing the comfort level of the stay.||Dining & Breakfast:|The breakfast experience was underwhelming, with limited offerings that did not impress. However, the omelet and coffee stood out as the only highlights of the morning meal. A more refined and varied selection would greatly enhance the dining experience.||Location:|Situated a bit far from Jaipur's bustling city center, the location may not be the most convenient for those looking to explore major attractions with ease. However, for travelers who appreciate a quieter, more secluded atmosphere, it might be an advantage.||Service & Hospitality:|One of the hotel's strongest points is its staff. The team is warm, welcoming, and possesses a great sense of humor, adding a personal touch to the stay. Their friendly demeanor helps compensate for some of the hotel's shortcomings.

Have stayed at the Bissau Palace Hotel several times now and absolutely love it! It has a wonderful bygone charm and character. It's a beautiful Hotel for a unique stay in the peace and tranquility of its grounds, with its lovely garden and great swimming pool. Has an excellent buffet breakfast with a lot of choice. Enjoy breakfast in the lovely restaurant or on the verrandah by the pool. The staff are all very helpful and friendly. I also had some treatments offered at the Hotel by Preeti, who was excellent and felt a treat. We definitely want to return!
We stayed at this Heritage property for 2 nights and the experience was absolutely amazing! Rooms were neat and clean with its historic charm with all the basic amenities equipped. Staff here is extremely kind and helpful they even helped us to manage Jaipur sightseeing within the limited time we had and provided us car and good driver. The only drawback is the location of the property it is located in a congested area which makes it difficult to locate the property but once you the enter the property it feels like a different world. The complimentary breakfast was delicious and the dinning area is stunning which will make you feel like a royalty. The property is at a walking distance from metro station.
What an amazing place! I have been a bit worried when I was coming by taxi as the property is situated in old part of Jaipur which seems a bit rough. But when I opened the gate I was like wooow. I just entered a different world. Super calm and relax place, smiling people. Beautiful historical building and not just the building. Also room was wonderfully done. Swimming pool is just right size for a few people to relax when exhausted from exploring Jaipur (the city gate is just 10 min walk). I can't comment about complimentary breakfast as I have been leaving to explore places before breakfast was served (from 7am) but I have asked if I can have it as a take away when I was leaving. I have just about fruit and that was no problem at all. Also have to mention the security of the place, which was absolutely tope. As a solo traveller they remembered me immediately by the gate and have asked me where I am heading and what time roughly will be back. The morning when I was leaving (5am) and waiting for tuk tuk and friend infront of the hotel security guy was watching me all the time and make sure that I am safe in tuk tuk. Really appreciate it! If I'll come again to Jaipur, this will be place whee to stay. Only small warning about the are. The close by market is great place for fruit shopping but I would warn ladies to look after their back!
As others have said it really is a place of faded glory. The rooms are all individual and with varying degrees of comfort. The place could do with money being spent to update the bathrooms and some of the electrics. Our room smelled musty and there were damp patches. On the plus side the building is a palace and if you want a heritage experience rather than a modern hotel then this fits the bill. It's completely authentic and the wall paintings are beautiful. The staff are wonderful and attentive and the food is excellent.|| The breakfast is the most varied that we experienced. We ate at the restaurant and the food was excellent although one meal would certainly be enough for two people! The hotel is right in the heart of the old city so it is possible to walk to some of the attractions, if you want to take your life in your hands. Although centrally located it is set back in its own grounds and peaceful at night. ||The pool area is small but it's possible to eat breakfast by the pool.
Review for Cooking Lesson at Bisou Palace, Jaipur||||Attending a cooking lesson at Bisou Palace in Jaipur was an extraordinary experience! From the moment I arrived, I was captivated by the palace's regal charm and warm hospitality. The setting itself is breathtaking, with its intricate architecture and serene ambiance, making it the perfect backdrop for an authentic culinary journey.||||The lesson was incredibly well-organized, blending hands-on cooking with fascinating insights into Rajasthani cuisine and culture. The chef was not only highly skilled but also a fantastic storyteller, sharing the history and significance behind each dish we prepared. I particularly loved learning to make traditional dishes like dal baati churma and gatte ki sabzi, all with fresh, locally-sourced ingredients.||||What stood out most was the personal attention given to every participant, regardless of their cooking expertise. The chef patiently guided us through each step, offering tips and tricks to replicate the flavors at home. The use of spices, which can often feel intimidating, was demystified in such a way that even a novice could feel confident.||||The best part? Sitting down to enjoy the meal we prepared in a beautifully decorated dining area. The flavors were exquisite, and the sense of accomplishment made it even more special.||||If you're in Jaipur and looking for a unique and immersive experience, I highly recommend the cooking lesson at Bisou Palace. It's a delightful blend of learning, culture, and indulgence that will leave you with lasting memories and a new appreciation for Rajasthani cuisine. Truly a five-star experience!
Claiming to be the oldest palace Hotel of the city and located a short walk from the pink city, the structure has seen better times. The old grandeur is still visible but sincerely needs better upkeep. Staff is very helpful and prompt, breakfast is small but delightful by the pool. Property needs immediate maintenance, restoration and proper upkeep. Can easily improve on property wide cleanliness.
People have given mixed reviews, I understand what they say.. You are stopping in a piece of history almost a museum, we enjoyed it.. Rooms are basic but fun. Food and breakfast OK. Best part you escape the madness of jaipur
