Hotel Bharatpur Ashok

Bharatpur Forest Lodge is now run by RTDC and situated in an absolutely serene environment. I booked it online for 4 days during August '19. The hotel is about 1.5km inside the park from the entry gate. The first floor room, bathroom and linen were clean. Available furniture were alright. Lightng was ok. The attached balcony was also excellent to watch sunset and birds. It was nice to wake up in the morning listening to chirping of the birds. There is a moderately maintained lawn with swings where children can enjoy. You may find there many birds in the morning. The staff were courteous, helpful and ready to share info.|However, the piped water was hot almost through out the day during August. The bar was defunct. Only Doordarshan was available on the TV. Personally I did not feel very bad about all these shortcomings, as my basic intention was birding. The biggest problem I faced was booking park visit ticket everyday from the ticket counter near the entry gate 1.5km from the hotel. You have to manage someone who will get the tickets for you.

Best Location if visiting Bird Sanctuary. Average room , Average food, Polite and courteous staff. Bedsheets and Towels were clean n almost new. No wifi. Resort is short of state funds to maintain the premises. It was pleasure to see deers at times in resort premises below room balcony. Plenty car parking space.

Stayed at Forest Lodge from 27-Oct till 29-Oct, 2019 with family :-|Our observations :-||1. Very quiet place. Rooms are comfortable.|2. Staff was helpful and courteous.|3. Complimentary Breakfast - Limited choice and that too no buffet system was available. So if any additional quantity was required, same was not available. This was not the case in MP Tourism / Garhwal Vikas. Even in Ranthambore buffet was available.|4. No concept of full chicken dishes - one had to go for dishes with 4 pcs each.|5. Surrounding areas like lawns etc needs a dramatic uplift.|6. Cars should be allowed to go out of the Keoladev premises on need basis and should be charged once. Presently they are charged Rs. 100/- per entry. So if you need to go out twice a day, you have to shell out Rs. 200/-.|7. Cycles for hire should be better maintened.||Overall a decent stay at a quiet place. You may get a better bargain outside of the sanctuary but you will also miss the howling of the jackals and flight of birds when they are here in winter. Old property in a nice forest setting. They also light a camp fire on winter nights. Though appears regularly painted, it is in need for a renovation. Linen and towels very clean and fresh. Toiletries adequate. Dinner is very good. Breakfast average. Staff courteous and helpful. However, at 5600 per night for double occupancy (with breakfast only) it is over-priced for the value provided.

The only plus is that it's located inside the national park. We had a beautiful view and could watch the wild animals coming to drink water all night. The downside is service. Wet spoons, dirty cups and mediocre food. Although the hotel is old and drab, the location is the best. Don't think it gets any better than getting a chance to listen to the noises of the animals at night and seeing rabbits, deer and other bright eyes coming for a drink of water at the hotel.

For Birders this is the property to stay. The place has its limitations ( as being run by govt ) but its worth it, since one can see lot of birds from the room itself , which is not the case with any hotels outside the park. I hope management makes some improvement and make it more beautiful. Its birders paradise

Situated right inside the national park, this hotel offers a good ambiance. Has a good restaurant. Rooms have become old. But they are spacious with balconies. Do visit Saleem Ali center for more info on the park situated right besides the hotel.

We stayed at the Hotel Bharatpur Ashok for 3 nights and 4 days in the summer. The Hotel was excellent! We all simply loved it. Its near some museum and is inside the Keoladeo national park, in the summer we could not spot enough birds but surely saw many animals. The staff was friendly and the food was good, though spicy. The rooms were also good, they had a tub, TV and a very bouncy bed. I recommend this hotel to everyone.
