I recently had the pleasure of staying at Virsaa the Captain's Mud Retreat in Punjab, and it was an unforgettable experience. From the moment I arrived, I felt warmly welcomed by the staff, who treated me like family. Their genuine hospitality and attentive service truly made my stay special. The rustic charm of the retreat, combined with the modern comforts provided, created a perfect blend of tradition and convenience. I booked Virsa Mud House through Agoda.com three months in advance at a discounted rate. Two weeks prior to our stay, I confirmed the booking with the owner via a phone call, and they even sent me confirmation on WhatsApp. Confident in our plans, my family and I traveled 50 kilometers to the property, only to be rudely denied the booking.||The manager bluntly informed us that they would not honor our reservation because it was booked at a lower price. If you can't accept a booking at a certain rate, fine, but at the very least, have the courtesy to inform your guests in advance! This is incredibly unprofessional.||As a guest, what more can one do to ensure their booking is valid? I did everything in my power -- I contacted the travel portal to confirm the booking and, just to be double sure, I called the property directly. Despite all this, I was still denied the booking. I wonder, what else can a guest possibly do?||To make matters worse, I have all the evidence -- phone recordings of the booking confirmation and WhatsApp screenshots. If anyone doubts this, feel free to ask me to verify it. The property still refused to honor the booking.||When I messaged the owner, the very person who confirmed our booking just days prior, he echoed the same attitude as the manager. When I reminded him of his previous confirmation, he had no answer but a hollow apology, claiming he wasn't aware of the rates. This level of disorganization and lack of professionalism is shocking.||They not only ruined my entire day but also wasted my time, money, and effort. I strongly recommend staying away from this property and these unprofessional individuals.

What else a guest can do?" ========== I had an extremely disappointing experience at Virsa Mud House in Fatehgarh Sahib. My husband and I drove 50 km to reach the property, only to be informed by their attendant that our booking had been canceled--without any prior notice! The most frustrating part is that we had confirmed our reservation with the owner two weeks in advance, both over the phone and on WhatsApp. Thankfully, the property was only 50 km away from our home, so we were able to return the same day. But imagine if we had come from a farther distance and couldn't return easily--it would have been a complete disaster! We would have had to spend more money to find another place to stay at the last minute. This place is unreliable, and I strongly urge others to stay away. They can cancel your booking even after confirming it, leaving you stranded. Don't take the risk--find somewhere else to stay!

I had an absolutely delightful experience during my stay at Virsaa, The Captain Mud Retreat. It is great to stay in earth rooms and I was surprised to notice how comfortable they were. The rooms were cool in summer and I didn't even feel the need to switch on the AC. This is a place with traditional aesthetics and modern amenities creating a cozy and relaxing atmosphere . The highlight of my stay in the place was undoubtedly the food. The true, right Punjabi way of cooking at Virsaa was a pleasure. Every plate was bursting with quality of tastes and prepared with greatest, highest care. The service staff was kind, polished and always ready to support to any special to do with food desires or needed things. The retreat itself felt like a serene village escape, far away from the hustle and bustle of city life. The lush green surroundings and tranquil ambiance were perfect for unwinding and rejuvenating. The attention to detail and impeccable service provided by the staff truly enhanced the overall experience. It offers a unique and memorable luxury village experience that showcases the rich cultural heritage of Punjab. I highly recommend this retreat to anyone seeking a peaceful and authentic getaway.

Amazing hospitality and very clean rooms. Food is delicious at very reasonable price. Most recommended. Really enjoyed our time here. Will definitely visit again.
