Green Acres Haveli & Retreat

Punjabi hospitality is world renowned. We got a taste of this during the entire stay.||What can I say , from the moment we arrived it was as if we were greeted by family. The property is absolutely stunning and the staff goes above and beyond making sure that we were truly well taken care off. We spent three nights and the Singh family took the time in providing us car service to the golden temple(must see), taking us on tractor rides through beautiful villages and just being an all around gracious host. The entire family stayed with us, ate the same food that was prepared in their own kitchen. The vegetable gardens, flora and fauna around and the haveli are just so relaxing to see and venture into. We even met the Singh's extended family, it was like we knew them for ages.... Every morning the family comes to enquire to find out if the guests are comfortable. In today's era it is something that is never heard off. All around magical experience whether you are traveling with family, friends or your partner in crime. Highly recommend.

Charming & Old style haveli... Loved the place as soon as we entered. I went along with my family. The hosts were very warm & guided us well. They helped us plan our entire itinerary along with recommendations of places to eat (& we had lovely food at all of those places) . Food was nice and homely, the highlight being the green tea which was picked fresh from their farms.||Rooms were good & clean but the bathroom was in a bad shape. The service was very prompt and they did take very good care of us. They showed us around their beautiful and well maintained farms wherein they were growing various veggies & fruits. ||The location of this place was just perfect. It is few minutes away from the airport, and just about 20-30 mins away from the Golden temple. Most of the options to stay at Amritsar are the typical hotels in the city. This is a very good option if you do not like the typical hotels and prefer home stays.||We also did the tractor ride which was an amazing experience. Must try!!! ||Indeed, a very good place to stay with the best service & great hosts!!

We had a 2 night stay at the haveli and were looked after so well. The farm was lovely and we enjoyed our walk through the orchard and gardens. We ate with the family and made to feel part of the family; drinks and conversation were flowing. They were so generous with their time and hospitality. Dinner and breakfast were delicious and much of the food was home grown. Our room was spacious and comfortable with plenty of hot water for showers. We were given a welcome basket of fruits and snacks and a tea/coffee tray was available. The family were able to give advice on places to visit and arranged a guide for us for The GoldenTemple and the Wagah Border. I would definitely take advantage of their 'escape package'. We did struggle with lack of WiFi as we had no internet connectivity whilst there. We would definitely recommend this to others as an alternative to a hotel. A big thank you to the Singh family.

First, we would like to thank the Singh Family for the wonderful memories and exemplifying the true meaning of Farm Home Stay. A truly loving caring family who have opened their doors to a magical place in Amritsar - where every need in the room, food has been refined to perfection with a homely touch. Let's begin with the morning - bright sunshine welcomes you in the courtyard then it's the enticing smell of Punjabi breakfast from the kitchen that draws you to the dining table where you are welcomed with a big smile. You have all the options to customise your meal from Parathas to cornflakes, omlettes topped up with lip smacking lassi / buttermilk.||||We got a weekend - the lunch was spread out in the lawn; it was like a big picnic with family supported by delicious hot food. If you happen to notice - FOOD FOOD in my review it's that what we ate to our heart's content.||||Before I move on - Dinner :-) more food. That's the thing about Punjab good food. Here it is all farm fresh. Again special thank you to the family who delayed their dinner just for us as we arrived back late from a trip to Wagah border.||||Next, is the trip to Farm. What a wonderful sight to experience rows of citrus fruits and some unusual ones - Almonds grown in the backyard. Tractor ride included a hands on experience with rice field.||||The support staff - Motilalji, Mgr - Prince and Arsh are the best in hospitality. A toast to their dedication and efforts that got us around Amritsar tourist spots with a breeze.||||Before concluding the review - thanks to the Forum members for their recommendation.

This was our second visit to Green Acres after about 5 years. The place is even more charming than before. We visited with kids this time and it was convenient to have them in the next room with a connecting door. Flowers were in full blossom throughout the property and weather was just perfect in Feb.||||Mr. Prince was very hospitable and took care of all our arrangements including organizing taxis and trips. Moti-ji was very sweet and always smiling and looked after us very well. Fresh food from the farm was simply delish. We got to enjoy sarson ka saag that we cut ourselves and was later slow cooked over wood fire all day. ||||This time I couldn't easily find the place on Tripadvisor so had to google it. Owners told us that they don't advertize at all and only accept a limited number of guests as they run this place more as a hobby than for commercial purposes. They also don't list on hotel booking engines. So it is truly a hidden gem if you manage to find it and go through a manual booking process via email.||||Not sure when we will come back to Amritsar again but highly recommend Green Acres Haveli to anyone looking for a non-hotel sort of a quiet and peaceful place with traditional home cooked Punjabi food.

We were made to feel very welcome by the gracious hosts and staff at their heritage farmstay located between the airport and Amritsar. We stayed for 3 nights and the hosts were generous with their time and their advice about Amritsar,the Sikh history and the Punjabi culture. Deepa looked after our transport arrangements while Dr and Mrs Singh advised us on foods and attractions in the region. Our room was clean and we had 3 very comfortable nights sleep. We were even able to enjoy a bonfire in the courtyard on our second night. There is nothing more needed as everything is here to enjoy your stay in Amritsar.

Me and my sister's family decided to have road trip to Amritsar and while googling on the stay found this place and booked ..and it was one of the best decision taken for the trip. It was such a wonderful experience and so lucky to meet the host ..they were so helpful and took care of us personally ..below are some of the highlights and Thanks so so much for being so amazing host :||1. When we reached we got to know we were being upgraded to 2 rooms as we were 3 adult and a kid so they took care of the comfort of us especially the kid.|2. The food was really amazing ..homemade organic fresh food and different fruits was really superb|3.We had tractor ride to see the farm ..which was an awesome experience..specially the kid was really excited and learnt a lot about farming|4. Mr and Mrs SINGH guided us to the amazing food joints to get the real essence of Amritsari Food|5. Special Thanks to Moti for being so caring ..be it fresh fruit juice or amazing lemongrass tea in night or ginger masala tea in morning and evening.||Thanks so much for making Amritsar trip so memorable and when in Amritsar stay here to get real feel of Punjab and Amritsar.|

My sister and me stayed at raj deep's beautiful haveli. We booked the 2 night package. Room and bathroom were really clean and comfortable. It can get a little humid in the room(impossible to dry clothes eg) but there are fans and ventilation and a/c. The bed is incredibly comfortable!!! We never slept better. Even if windowmoskitonets and room repellent is provided, bring your personal repellent for the skin as well.(they might have some for you if you don't though. |The meals we had were all tasty, not to mention the heartly service. Motilale "Moti" is always there for you and even if he doesn't speak or understand English, somehow he will understand your needs and make you smile or just greet you in the yard. |The included "village safari" was somewhat hilarious: the group of international visitors was seated on strawstools on a tractor and driven through the nearby village. It was funny and weird at the same time, for us and for the locals probably as well. |Definitely go and see the golden temple when staying at the haveli, and take a good amount of time to do some shopping in the shoe and fabric markets around there. Rides can be aranged by the haveli. |Me personally I didn't enjoy the recommended excursion to the Pakistani border too much, it's a military parade.(I should have done a bit of research instead of just following like a chicken and that really just personal taste) but it was very well organised with a reliable driver. |We met other members of the host's family which gave the stay an extra homely and welcoming touch. |Raj deep's quality and manners as a host are more than perfect.||It might not be the vey cheepest option to visit Amritsar but probably one of the most peaceful and beautiful ways. All in all we enjoyed our stay very much and can definitely recommend staying at green acres haveli.
