It's close to Golden Temple but definitely not 80 steps. It takes 10-15 min walking to reach the temple. Also as shown in you tube, its rooms don't have views of golden Temple. Rooms are totally closed. Windows open in shaft so they are always closed. It has a terrace from where a part of temple is visible. Terrace is neat and clean and can be enjoyed if weather is good. Traditional punjabi food like chole, chawal, dal tadka, naan etc are good. We also ordered crispy corn which tasted decent but definitely below expectations. So order only typical punjabi food if you want it to be good. During our 2 days stay room service was done after asking us but floor was not cleaned. Only bed was made. Our luggage took ages to arrive during checkout. Overall the hotel was not so good and not so bad.

I am very happy to write down the review for this hotel. First of all, the organization and staff are very good and available for any time when you need help. Rooms and service are excellent. If I have the chance to stay, then I book again. Thank you so much for your good treatment and taking care of us.
We recently with my family stayed at this place in Apr 25. If any one wants to visit Golden temple....then this hotel is a perfect location as its at the perimeter of the Golden Temple. E-Rickshaws were readily available all the time and to drop us at the entrance gate of golden temple it was free. We took taxi from the hotel to visit Wagah border and R K Tour & Travel - Mr Rajinder Gill was very helpful and charged us a resonable charges. The stay was very comfortable and could get these rooms at a very reasonable price. The food was ok and the staff was very polite and helpful. Specially would like to thank the reservation Manager Ms Harpreet who was very polite / helpful and took care of all my family needs. Would definitely recommend everyone to stay there....
Very Bad Experience at One Earth Amritsar We had an extremely disappointing experience at One Earth Amritsar. We booked a room for one day, checked in at 10 PM, and checked out at 11 AM the next morning. During checkout, we requested the receptionist to keep our luggage in the luggage room and also asked for a room for just 10 minutes in the evening so my wife could change before our night travel to Manali. The receptionist assured us that if a room was available, they would provide it. However, when we returned in the evening, the receptionist flatly refused, claiming no rooms were available. I could clearly see that many rooms were vacant and even pointed it out, but instead of being helpful, the staff laughed at us and said they wouldn't provide a room. Shockingly, they suggested that my wife change in the luggage room. When my wife went to the luggage room, she found that there was no lock inside the door. Concerned for her safety, I questioned the receptionist about how a female guest was expected to change in an unlocked room. Again, they laughed at us. I had to stand outside the door while my wife changed. Only after I threatened to file a complaint did the receptionist reluctantly offer a room on the second floor. The staff at this hotel is completely unprofessional and insensitive. We spent 3,000 for less than 12 hours in this cheap-quality hotel with terrible service. With so many better options available near the Golden Temple, I strongly recommend avoiding this hotel.
A Convenient Stay Steps from the Sacred: One Earth Hotel, Amritsar For travelers seeking proximity to the revered Sri Harmandir Sahib, affectionately known as the Golden Temple, the One Earth Hotel offers an undeniably convenient location, particularly with its close access to the temple's back entrance. This accessibility is a significant advantage, allowing for easy and frequent visits to experience the spiritual heart of Amritsar. The hotel itself presents a comfortable and adequate experience. While the rooms are described as "okay" and "good," they provide a satisfactory base for exploring the city and, more importantly, for immersing oneself in the serene atmosphere surrounding the Golden Temple. Guests can expect a decent level of comfort, providing a welcome respite after a day of sightseeing and spiritual reflection. Similarly, the service at One Earth Hotel is reported to be "okay." This suggests a level of functionality and helpfulness that meets basic needs. While it may not be exceptionally noteworthy, it appears to be reliable and sufficient for a comfortable stay. The standout feature of One Earth Hotel is undoubtedly its location. Being just a stone's throw from the Golden Temple's back entrance offers unparalleled ease for pilgrims and tourists alike. The ability to walk to and from the temple at any time of day or night is a priceless benefit, allowing for participation in the various ceremonies and the absorbing of the temple's divine ambiance at one's own pace. In conclusion, One Earth Hotel serves as a practical and well-situated option for those prioritizing nearness to the Golden Temple. With rooms that are good and service that is acceptable, the hotel's prime location makes it a compelling choice for visitors to Amritsar seeking spiritual solace and cultural immersion. While it may not boast extravagant amenities or exceptional service, its unbeatable proximity to one of the world's most significant religious sites makes it a worthwhile consideration for your stay. Also there were some Alwar's noises at night when we were sleeping like someone was trying trying to open the gate
The hotel is one of the better ones in the area, very close to golden temple entry, they have a very active travel desk and e rickshaw services available and courteous staff. They were very accommodating while we requested to have our rooms changed for convenience of proximity to lifts. All the House keeping and front desk staff took good care of us along with Vicky and Rahul the e rickshaw drivers.
I had an amazing experience staying at this hotel! The staff were incredibly warm, helpful, and attentive throughout my stay, making me feel right at home. A special shout-out to Vishal, who went above and beyond to make our visit comfortable. His professionalism, kind nature, and willingness to help with even the smallest requests truly made a difference. Thank you, Vishal! The room was spotless, spacious, and well-maintained with all the modern amenities I needed for a comfortable stay. What truly sets this hotel apart is its unbeatable location - just a short walk from the Golden Temple, which made visiting the holy site so convenient and peaceful, especially for early morning and late-night darshans. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Amritsar. I'll definitely be coming back!
I am absolutely appalled by my experience at Hotel One Earth in Amritsar. We traveled all the way from Australia, hoping for a pleasant stay, only to be met with a level of accommodation that was completely unacceptable. Despite booking our rooms well in advance (at least 3 weeks), the reality was shocking and far from what was advertised. The hotel is old, dusty, and reeks of neglect. The carpets are filthy, the place smells musty, and it felt like we had been deceived and completely cheated by the condition of the hotel.||We booked four rooms for our large family, and after a delayed flight, we arrived exhausted around 10:30 PM. What we found upon entering our rooms was beyond disappointing--it was unbearable. When I requested a change of room, the night receptionist was unaccommodating and dismissive. We had to argue for over an hour before finally being offered a room we could sleep in.||Initially, we were assigned a family room, two Executive Queen rooms (one of which wasn't even cleaned when we opened the door), and an Executive King room. The Executive Queen room was ridiculously small, with a filthy, unkempt bathroom. We had to request a change. The second Executive Queen room, located on the first floor, was so bad, smelly, and poorly maintained that we had to get it upgraded as well.||The conditions were the worst I've ever encountered. The rooms were dusty, the linen wasn't changed, and we found hair on the sheets. The glasses in the room were filthy, and we couldn't even use them. The kettle had dried tea leaves inside when handed over. It was clear that no effort had been made to maintain any standard of cleanliness or comfort.||The dining area in the basement was equally atrocious. There was no ventilation, and it was smoky and unbearable to sit there for more than 20 minutes. The food was downright terrible. This place doesn't even meet basic standards, let alone offer any sort of pleasant dining experience. The kitchen utensils used for the buffet in the common dining area were old, non-stick vessels that were almost completely scratched off, clearly from years of using metal utensils. It's completely unacceptable that a hotel would provide such worn-out kitchen equipment that poses potential health risks. I cannot fathom how this is deemed acceptable.||To make matters even worse, the manager, Palash, who I had made the reservation with, was completely helpless in addressing the issue. He claimed that the rooms were misallocated by the staff, even though he had correctly assigned the rooms himself. This was infuriating, especially considering the horrific conditions of the rooms. I had paid a premium price during the holiday season, expecting a comfortable and clean stay, only to be met with a nightmare.||I am beyond disappointed by this hotel. It was the worst accommodation I've ever encountered, and I cannot fathom how this place is even considered acceptable for guests. If you are seeking a place with comfort and quality, do not stay here. It may be suitable for pilgrims who are focused solely on proximity to the temple and are not concerned with comfort, but for anyone else, it is an absolute disgrace. ||This has been a completely disheartening and frustrating experience, and I will never recommend this hotel to anyone.
