Yatri Nivas - Suite & Deluxe A/C Wing

People usually have a wrong notion that any govt. owned hotel are not good. But they are completely wrong. I would like to clarify that there has been many changes. OTDC has developed a lot. I have been to many state govt. owned hotels/restaurants and I can proudly say that they have been providing really good food and service. In Konark it is quite difficult to find a good place to eat. You may say that, "but there are many restaurants and dhabas". Yes there are lot of these so called dhabas and restaurants. But their price is high and food quality is not to my satisfaction. With good taste and hygiene food the price is not an issue. Instead they just charge high from tourist. So I recommend you guys to visit Yatri Niwas. Eat your lunch here only. You will get authentic Odia cuisine. Staffs are very professional and the food is great. Rooms are also available. We tried rice, fish curry, fish fry, prawn curry and dal. Mouth watering and delicious curry. Neither they have used too much oil nor it was too spicy. Fish had a fresh taste to it. Really loved. And whenever I will visit Konark, I will opt for this place only. Huge parking spot is available.

Rooms are okay but lack proper maintenance, as expected in government accommodations. Service is also sluggish at times. It's kind of value for money, if you are not anything luxurious. Stayed in the Executive Room but the AC needed servicing, Lots of mosquitoes in the room as the bathroom exhaust was not properly installed, leaving acres of unfilled space for them to barge in. Just for the stay of one night, you would be able to manage all these things simply because location wise it's incomparable. Seated right across the Sun Temple, next to the Archaeological Museum, with Chandrabhaga Beach only a 5 minute ride away, what in the hell can beat this.

Its well-maintained gardens, comfortable accommodations, and convenient location make it an excellent choice for travelers who appreciate tranquility and natural beauty.

Damnn, what a horrible place! Borderline filthy. The bedsheets are unwashed, the chairs have stains on them. The floor is so unclean, its disgusting to walk around barefoot. The toilets were clean however, but the rest of the place is still awful!! Each room has just 2 electric sockets, and most likely only one of them works. Tons of mosquitoes and grasshoppers, which I'm okay with tbh, but some people might find them hard to tolerate. The AC in most rooms is partially broken, it makes a loud creaking sound all the time. It's very disappointing to see this is in a Govt Tourist Hotel. The rest of the city, except for the beaches and the temple, is very filthy as well.

Room stay is just excellent. The resort is built with lush green and well planned rooms. Has well mannered people at the reception and in room service. Washrooms are clean and sanitized. They also have a restaurant serving all three meals, but the order will take very long and the taste is also not that good. So better to order it before hand or have it outside. Cost is fair and affordable.

With Rs 1500 for AC room including breakfast it's worth the stay. Rooms are clean, property is quite old but considering the price it charges it is well maintained. A lot of sea food options in menu and taste is good. Staff behaviour is very helpful and courteous. Location is right next to main market and Sun Temple with ample parking space in property.

Good place to stay in konark at reasonable price. Good car parking near to temple but unfortunately I was chaated by a person vikas opend fake id as OTDC yatrnivas konark and asked me to send money to reconfirm my booking.i lost big amount through Google pay,I made cyber police complaint also.other wise it is good.

Rooms are small, though clean, but furnishing (doors, water faucets, bed, etc) are in poor condition. For example, the door is bare plywood, lock does not work so they have provided a padlock and key.
