Willis Village Urban Garden Apartments

Ideally situated in central Wellington, this property offers exceptional value. Its immaculate condition and convenient amenities, including a dishwasher, washer, and dryer, make it perfect for families. The strong water pressure and heat pumps in the bedrooms and lounge enhance comfort. We highly recommend this property for future stays.

I wondered whether to give this a four or a five (both good scores!) but what tipped it was that despite the room being slightly 'tired' and dated, it was super well equipped. We had a two bed suite and I just cannot ciomplain about a single amenity the suite had. The shower was super which is always a bug-bear for me and it's lacking nothing. Within 3 minutes of leaving the room, you can be in a super breakfast cafe and 5 minutes to one of the best craft beer bars in Wellington. Love this place.

Booked into Willis Village for the Idea Services Kapa Haka Nationals held at Takina. Great spacious apartment rooms. The street noise did not bother us at all. The beds were so comfortable! Well equipped the full kitchen and laundry with a washing machine + dryer. 2x bathrooms, 1 upstairs with a shower & 1 downstairs with an extra toilet. My blind daughter was able to navigate her way around the room without any issues, including the stairs to go to her bedroom. The location was awesome. You couldn't get any closer to the CBD. We had a meal from one of the restaurants directly underneath us. Our check-in was easy as there is no reception, so you retrieve your door card from a locked box once given a code just before your arrival. There is no on-site car parking. We paid for 2 nights underground secure parking at the Boulcott Suites 3 minutes walk from our accommodation, which was safe & secure. The exterior could do with a spruce up. Other than that, we would definitely stay here again!!

great apartment, well priced. Location is very convenient - everything within the walking distance: coffee, bars, restaurants, airport bus. apartment was clean and tidy, hairdryer , towels, soap, shampoo, conditioner- all included. we were offered to store luggage next door before/after check in time. great Vietnamese restaurant downstairs was very convenient when was raining. Recommend this place

Decent size for a family.good location,easycheck in.do have to say it could have had more sky channels for sport and the kids and upgrade to a bigger tv.but in all a pretty good stay.oh and maybe a ramp to upstairs for access with prams or mobility.also you need to fix the deadbolts to the patio area

Impeccably presented rooms and easy access in terms of service. The location would've easily received 5 stars if it wasn't for the late night party people outside sounding like they were actually in the lounge.

Pros: great location, can walk to everything you need. Food, shops, attractions etc. Beds were super comfy, all rooms were really large and came with fans to fight off the summer heat (and heaters for winter). Great space for staying with friends, we all had a lovely time.||Cons: place is very tired looking, needs a good clean and upkeep. Very noisy at night but that is just Wellington for you. Area does attract rough crowds, we witnessed someone smashing the restaurant windows one night. Bigger bins would be appreciated as they don't clean your room for 7 days. No AC in any of the apartment. Thankfully we only came back to sleep and watch movies at night, so it wasn't a deal breaker.

The biggest problem with this accommodation is the check in process. We arrived from the airport after midnight and entered the code we had been sent to open the locked box containing the keys to the apartment. Unfortunately we had been given the wrong code and so couldn't open the box. If there are any problems there is a phone number to call but given our arrival time I didn't have a New Zealand Sim card and at that time of night it's impossible to get one. We were placed in a very uncomfortable and potentially unsafe position by the operators of Willis Village. I think that if the operator is not going to have a person at the accommodation to ensure check in then they need to get the code correct every single time. If they got it wrong with us then they can get it wrong with someone else. If you are planning to stay here i recommend that you reconfirm the check in code with the operators before arrival and if you are arriving out of hours make sure that you have a New Zealand phone working in case you need it.|We stayed in Number One Apartment. Even with the curtains closed it is still light inside at night because of the bright lights in the courtyard and at the front of the village so you'll need an eye mask if you're a light sleeper. Street noise can also be a problem. The window in the bedroom won't open fully and windows, signs, whatever else it was rattles in the wind, which affects sleep. The apartment is on multiple levels and there are steps throughout which could be a problem for some. There are no instructions on how to use the oven and it may not have been working. There was no plug for the sink and no dish rack for drying the dishes. There were limited dishes - only four large plates - and because the sink couldn't be plugged you have to keep using the dishwasher repeatedly when it isn't full. Also there is no room in the main bedroom for even one suitcase. These are relatively minor quibbles compared to the check in fiasco and I have given a low rating mainly for the very poor check in. On the plus side Willis Village is in a great location.
