Wellesley Boutique Hotel

Stayed at the Wellesley Hotel for 2 nights at the end of a 9 day Roadtrip of the North Island. It was already after hours when we arrived - the check in instructions were clear. The old manual door elevator was a bit of a challenge with our luggage but we got the hang of it and enjoyed the historic aspects of the building - loved the claw foot bathtub and the old Club House vibe of the decor. Happy to see a bottle of wine available in the room (reasonable charge) after a very long day drive. Super comfortable beds and an easy walk to the harbour in the evening. A refreshing change from the generic chain hotel experience. Would return if back in Wellington!

Had one night here so can't say much about the service and location, we found a couple of places to get drinks and food both reasonably close. Good hotel, comfortable bed well equipped room. Would of liked more time to explore the building.

This is one of the unique hotels I have ever stayed in - it was warm, friendly and just felt so lovely. Truly recommend to anyone.|It was a stone throw away from the waterfront. So going for coffee, the portrait gallery or dinner was really easy. Honestly, the lift alone was so much fun.

One of the iconic buildings with an amazing history in Wellington. It deliverers way above it's price per night. While it doesn't deliver 5 star services it doesn't pretend to. The rooms are large with 5 star bathrooms, beds are as good as you will get. Wellesley has undergone significant reno's over the last few years and they have don an amazing job. The hotel is old worldy elegance right next to the waterfront. The staff are all amazing and more than willing to impart their local knowledge. Both the coffee shop and the breakfast dinning room are outstanding. I would really like them to be open on the weekends however there are plenty to choose from close by.||Normally I would keep a little treasure like this to myself, you know, so I can get in when I need too, so do yourself a favour when next in Wellington and stay here.

super friendly and helpful staff. Beautiful old historic building, close to the waterfront with different pubs and restaurant nearby. Centrally located to explore town (e.g. cable car just 5min walk away). Big rooms and equipped with minibar and kettle. Can recommend this hotel for you stay in Wellington

A lovely, charming hotel. Beautifully appointed and comfortable. Close to all facilities as well as public transport and the Inter Island Ferry Terminal. Also close to the Marina restaurants. |Communication regarding the booking was excellent. We would highly recommend.

We loved everything about our stay. The bed was extremely comfortable, everything was spotlessly clean and the decor was perfect for the building. Loved the old fashioned original lift! The location was perfect, short walk to pubs, restaurants and transport. Very helpful and friendly staff.

This hotel is a real gem. Right in the center of Wellington with many bars and restaurants within easy walking distance. The rooms are very comfortable with well appointed large bathrooms. All this at a very reasonable tariff. I would certainly return.
