U Residence Hotel Wellington

I chose this accommodation as it is right next door to the back door of Takina where I was exhibiting for 3 days so I wanted to be handy. I booked the option that included parking which was just over the road. After hours check in was easy, involving a key pad and lock box on the premises. The room was spacious and comfortable with full kitchen (including dishwasher and oven). Despite being in the centre of town it was very quiet overnight, bar the occasional siren.

This hotel is ideally located in the heart of the city, with restaurants, cafes, sightseeing. It is also a dog-friendly accommodation. The room is exceptionally clean, neat, and spacious. We appreciated the thoughtful touches, such as the water bowl, bed, and treats provided for our furry family member.|We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. This apartment is in a perfect location for exploring Wellington. Just around the corner from Te Papa and across the road from the waterfront. It is well equipped with everything we required for a four night stay and is clean and comfortable. The balcony also has a view of the waterfront. We will definitely book again if coming back to Wellington.

Clean, comfortable, convenient and well appointed; check in details were clear; we were a family of three staying for 3 nights. U Residence comprises self-contained rooms on 4th floor of a block very near the main quay and the national museum Te Papa.

I like the concept, the location is convenient and the room is clean and comfortable. I had read other reviews about after hours check in being hard - and it was. I expected we would be fine without a front desk - they are on-site from like 9-5. Except during that time I'm out of the room and don't need anything. It is at midnight when something is buzzing in the Nextdoor office every 5 minutes that I need someone. The rooms all advertise a washer AND dryer but our room only had a combo and the drying function was terrible - it took hours and for some reason added more water regularly during the drying cycle? We borrowed a drying rack and had clothes everywhere in the room and bathroom trying to dry them. They had a separate dryer you could use in their office.... From 9-5... again, not helpful as I want to be sightseeing then not doing laundry. We picked this for the balcony and harbor view. It is nice, but the city is so windy we could never actually use it. One night it stormed very badly - the whole room was shaking all night. The winds were so strong the patio furniture was all tossed and the curtains were moving inside the room even with everything closed. I don't blame the hotel for this - maybe this is just a Wellington thing, but the perceived perk of the location didn't add anything and we got a terrible night of sleep. My next time here I will pick something further from the harbor.

Really nice clean modern space. Great having a kitchen and washing machine. Nice staff, welcoming and helpful. Easy to get in and out- and helpful parking right across the street. Good location for city adventures. Enjoyed our stay. Great stay thanks.

Such a great location, great price - I stay here most of the time when I'm in Wellington for work. Beds are really comfy -it's RIGHT next door to Takina - you don't even get wet walking 10m next door! I feel really safe here too - there's only one corridor of apartment bedrooms - maybe 15 rooms (off the top of my head). Super friendly business to deal with. Recommend!
