This was a disappointing stay - twin room with hardly room to swing a cat. The bottom sheets didn't fit the beds. The room was hot, but if you opened the window very noisy. The bathroom was tired and the tiles were old and slightly grubby - there was no extractor fan, so steamed up quickly. Small thin towels|A big factor was that the card for accessing the lifts and rooms was very hit & miss, meaning at one point I couldn't access the hotel from next to Plimmer Towers & had to wait for another guest to allow me access.||Location was good, but really that was the only plus

When we first arrived, the front desk wasn't manned for long enough that a line formed. However, they more than made up for this with helping us try to trouble shoot issues with our cellphone. The rooms are poorly designed. We had to open 2 heavy doors while hauling luggage to get into a tight hallway that doesn't have light until you put your keycard in the switch. I am absolutely all for saving energy, but this feature actually made us spend more as we left lamps on so we could easily see when we entered. The room space didn't improve much when in, as the bed took up almost the full room making luggage tight. The walls were also thin and it was easy to hear others. The parking garage is shared. It was super tight to get into spots and only certain spots are designated for customers of Travelodge. Staff was inconsistent with procedures to check into parking. Location was very convenient.

We loved our stay at Travelodge. It was very clean, comfortable and the lady at the reception super friendly. We asked for a quiet room and our request was respected. The price is reasonable and it's very close to the city center. Everything was perfect and smooth! I would defininately recommend it!

Fined $105 AFTER paying the $28 parking fee. We paid the fee, got shown where we can park: the red numbered spot, and displayed the parking slip on the wind shield. But no, fined anyway. After calling them there is no refund, got offered to appeal on our behalf with no guarantee, with a chance of doubling the fine if the appeal did not get accepted. Was told that it was "clearly stated during check in that we have to tell them explicitly for parking in the red numbered spot", which never happened. Will not be back for sure. Good location, room and service (beside the literally cost us $100 part) if you don't have a car.

Customer service and location of this hotel is fantastic, but the room I had was very dated and smelled musty. I did have a great view of the harbour from my room. Very handy location to centre of town and shops, cafes.

Totally fine for my one night stay. Comfortable bed, quiet, nice harbour view and i liked the windows opened to get freah air. Breakfast was basic, but did the job. Barista coffee would have been nice, but the hotel is in a good location and near several good coffee options.

The young gentleman was nice and friendly but when he asked for assistance from his other work colleague she was crazy rude to him for no reason at all. This is no way to disrespect your colleagues like that. But the gentle was super friendly and welcoming.

I recently stayed at Travelodge Wellington CBD before a specialist appointment, with my accommodation booked through ACC's travel agent. Prior to my trip, I contacted ACC to confirm that I would not need to cover any additional costs, as I am recovering from a serious accident, unable to work, and financially unable to afford unexpected charges. ACC assured me there would be no costs upon arrival. ||**Check-in Experience** |Upon arrival, I waited in line at reception for around 15 minutes, as another guest jumped ahead of me while a receptionist stood by without addressing the situation. Though frustrating, I let it slide. However, when I was finally served, I was informed of an unexpected **$100 refundable deposit** that needed to be paid before I could access my room--something I was never told about during the booking process. ||As expected, my card declined, as I had no funds available for such a cost. I explained that I had checked with ACC beforehand, but I was refused entry to my room and told to wait for a manager. By this point, it was 7:20 PM, I had been traveling all day, I was exhausted, and I had nowhere to go. The receptionist could not provide an estimated time for the manager's return, nor offer any form of reassurance or support. I was left in the lobby, feeling stranded and humiliated in front of other guests. ||When the manager finally arrived, she was vague, unhelpful, and dismissive, simply telling me to continue waiting. After further delays, she eventually called the travel agent after hours, who agreed to cover the $100 deposit. I then had to request help with my luggage, which should have been offered given my mobility challenges. I finally entered my room at 8.30 PM, over an hour after arriving at the hotel. ||**Room Quality** |Given that ACC covered nearly $200 per night for this stay, I was shocked by the room's poor condition. |- The shower tiles were cracked, discoloured, and had mouldy-looking grout.|- Dust was visible on the lamps, headboard, and behind the toilet. |- The walls were scuffed and damaged, in desperate need of maintenance. |- The room wasn't soundproofed, and I was kept awake by the constant slamming of the door next door throughout the night. ||**Overall Impression** |The worst part of my experience was the lack of transparency about the deposit fee, which caused unnecessary stress before an important medical appointment. The staff were inexperienced, unhelpful, and unable to provide clear communication, leaving me feeling stranded. The poorly maintained room and lack of soundproofing further added to the disappointment. ||I would not recommend Travelodge Wellington, especially for ACC clients, travelers with mobility issues, or those expecting decent customer service. The hotel urgently needs staff training on guest communication, problem resolution, and basic hospitality.
