Ohtel Wellington

A Stylish Stay with a Few Quirks Ohtel Wellington offered a generally delightful stay, blending a fantastic location with a charming mid-century modern aesthetic that we absolutely loved. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by the friendly staff, with a special shoutout to Stefan who was particularly welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. Our room boasted a lovely view, allowing us to soak in the Wellington cityscape. There may be city noise, but we travel with a house machine so it didn't bother us. The cleanliness of the room was also impeccable, which is always a welcome sight. The hotel's location proved to be incredibly convenient, making it easy to explore the city's attractions, restaurants, and shops. The standout feature for us was undoubtedly the mid-century vibe. The design elements, from the furniture to the decor, were thoughtfully curated and created a stylish and comfortable atmosphere that truly resonated with our personal taste. However, there was one aspect of the room that we weren't particularly fond of: the glass door bathroom. While aesthetically it might contribute to a sense of openness, it offered limited privacy, which was a bit of a drawback. Overall: Despite the minor issue with the bathroom door, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Ohtel Wellington. The friendly service, particularly from Stefan, the excellent location, the cleanliness, and the wonderful mid-century design made for a memorable experience. We would certainly consider staying here again, especially if the bathroom privacy could be addressed in future room designs. We found the Ohtel to be charming and comfortable, and the attached cafe was marvelous. So was the staff. I cannot recommend the Ohtel highly enough! The best part of our stay was the helpful staff and the location, right near Te Papa and Parliament. The room was lovely and very well appointed. Although the room comes with a fridge, there was no microwave for heating up leftovers - a very minor complaint!

We stayed two nights at the Ohtel Wellington. Great room, location and staff. Nice beds, linens and pillows. Everything you need supplied including robe, slippers and eco-conscious amenities. Had a fabulous breakfast and welcome drink included. Got a room with a bathtub - book it as not all do. A really nice bathtub. Staff so welcoming and helpful. Go to Te Papa - the National museum just a short walk away.

Recently my husband and I were treated to a night here. Fantastic. The room is alot bigger than what it looks like from outside. The bed was comfortable. The view was lovely. My ONLY bug would be...I wasn't a fan of the glass doors into the bathroom and curtain on the outside of room. But that's JUST me, others may not mind it. Overall, highly recommend Ohtel

Fantastic location right near the Waterfront. New World supermarket nearby which is very handy and restaurants a short walk away. Huge bathroom, comfortable beds and pillows. My room had a proper desk which was handy as I work online. 70's 2nd hand furniture but adds to charm and quirkiness. Recommended.

We were happy to get an unexpected upgrade to a beautiful room. We loved the bed, pillows and 1970s decor. ||Loved the pillow menu! Loved the sea view! didn't take advantage, but was nice there was a small cafe on site. If you want a great location, lovely staff and a quaint boutique hotel, this is it. Would love to come back.

Very nice hotel, The staff is lovely and professional. The room was great, clean with lots of amenities like coffee & teas. Also the bathroom gad lots of beauty products available and the bathtub is so big. The only bad points were: The room had only a tiny circle window that you couldn't even open as sealed and no opening. So felt a bit claustrophobic. And was no where on the room description or booking letting me know it will be a room without a proper window. First time ever I pay that much for a room and this happens. The second bad point is the room I was in was not well noise proff. Could hear clearly everything on the corridor and when my neighbor used his bathroom too. Overall very nice hotel despite being a bit expensive for what it offer at the end.
