We had an Executive Studio room, which provided a corner patio area. City views. There were lots of large windows, so the room was light and airy. It was clean. The hotel was handy to all the places we were going to. We had a nice meal and cocktails in the hotel restaurant. Our waitress was very nice but still professional. The only negative is that the on-site parking is for small cars only, and that is still very tight.

The location was incredibly convenient. It's close to everything we needed, with excellent access to public transport. The room was spotless and well-equipped, making for a truly comfortable and relaxing stay. A special thank you to the staff.. I accidentally left something behind after check-out, and they kindly kept it safe and ensured it was returned to me. I really appreciated their care and professionalism. Thank you so much!
Love staying at Oaks, modern clean rooms and linen, clean bathrooms with roomy showers. They have casting to TV or you can watch the free channels. Not noisy at all, except hum of the air on. The a la carte menu in the restaurant is fine dining level. Absolutely delicious. Staff are all friendly and helpful. My fridge wasn't working and they replaced it for me no trouble.
Great location for our visit. Comfy bed and well appointed room. Asked at the desk if we had to book for the restaurant and were told no, just roll on up. Didn't advise that the restaurant was closed on that night, Monday.
Great location being a Oaks member. Normally I do not do review. But from today. We had booked in for 4 nights. Getting a Studio room with a Kitchenette I was needing some butter. I went down to the restaurant to ask for some butter. For our fresh bread and hot cross buns for breakfast. We were given 2 little serves. I did ask for 4 more as we were flying out on the Tuesday morning and we had run out of our large tub after spending nearly 3 weeks travelling the North Island, we did not want to buy another tub before we flew out. I was offered only the 2 and was told We would have to be charged to our room for 4 other 1 serve tubs. Seriously the Oaks after paying over $200.00 dollars Australian money you could not help us out with butter. On our last night being the Monday night we were going to have a night meal with you, and a breakfast with you on the Tuesday morning before flew out from Wellington, so sorry but we were not going to spend our hard earned money with the Oaks again. Over asking for small amount of butter you were going to add to our room on our departure.
Overpriced and everything other than the room itself was horrible. First off, ive stayed in dozens of hotels and this was the first one where i had to pay for parking. The parking was overpriced as well. $25 a day is crazy. The garage was a joke. It's too tightly packed(would not recommend anything bigger than a sedan). We were told we would be assigned a space. We weren't assigned a space, so we caused a queue inside. The guy at the front desk said to drive to the garage door and he would help us with finding a space. We got to the door, rang the bell. No answer. Our card let us in, but we couldnt park because we didnt get a space. I had to go back inside and ask someone else to help us get a space. Tried to order room service for breakfast(well before their cutoff time), was kept on hold and automatically transfered to reception. Was then told to call the restaurant (which i did) and got transferred to them. They transferred me back to the restaurant and nobody answered. So we got ready to go head out and dine in. When we got there, the lady acknowledged that they were too busy to answer their phone and the only thing open was the buffet. She said we couldn't even dine in and order off the menu, only the buffet was open. This wasn't our fault. We tried to order before their cutoff time, they didnt answer us and then refused to serve us what we wanted and instead offered the more expensive buffet option. We ended up eating around the corner. This experience was very disappointing, especially for the price. This was supposed to be a highlight of our anniversary trip. I will not be coming back to this hotel, and suggest others find better accommodation in the area.
We stayed at the Oaks Wellington back in February. Ruksaan was especially helpful. He showed us various room options and we ended up with a room with a small kitchen area and a wonderful outdoor terrace. Rooms are clean and well appointed. Service was great, and the food and service in the restaurant both were wonderful.
I arrived at the hotel at 2 pm and was immediately faced with a disorganized check-in experience. I was told that the check-in process would be delayed, but no specific explanation was provided, nor was I given any clear timeline for when I could expect to be assisted. I waited in the lobby for over an hour without receiving any updates, and during that entire time, no staff member took the time to communicate with guests, including myself, to provide updates or apologize for the inconvenience. Not only did this lack of communication leave me frustrated and confused, but it also significantly impacted my plans for the day, as I had made arrangements based on my anticipated check-in time. I understand that delays can happen, but the complete lack of information and the absence of customer service during this period was inexcusable. As a paying guest, I expected better treatment, especially from an establishment that markets itself as providing high-quality service. Outside area of the hotel can be described as follows: where the bustling energy of the city center gives way to dimly lit streets and alleyways. The sidewalks are cracked and uneven, with litter scattered around. You might notice groups of people hanging around in small clusters, often engaging in hushed conversations or giving off a tense vibe. Some individuals loiter near darkened doorways, casting wary glances around, while others seem too eager to approach strangers. Avoid.
