YOUR KITCHEN NEEDS MAINTENANCE! Half of the stoves are not working at all. Other half are broken don't have anything to start the flame. If this isn't taken care of this is a hazard. Why ? Cause you have gas stoves that could catch fire if gas is leaking, isn't properly turned off. Kitchen is too small for this many people. Place was decently clean. Staff was friendly and helpful. But the rooms had squeaky mettle beds, no curtains, no plugs next to the bed. Quiet dark. Nothing to do in the hostel. Kinda plain. But a good location. This place has potential. But it lacks care and investment. I'm not one to leave bad reviews but there's some work to be done.

Another great stay at Nomads. Location is perfect. Rooms basic , but clean and comfortable. One of the quietest stays I've had in any hotel/hostel ever. ( rm 308) Pancake Sunday today and checkout came with fresh warm pancakes jam and butter. Amazing

The rooms, lounge and entrance had high ceilings and did not feel small! The staff were friendly and helpful and the room was clean! On the other hand, we used the shared shower room outside our room, but after waiting for a long time, there was no warm water and we showered with cold water. (I tried both of the two, but only water came out.) If only water is served, I thought it would be kind if there was a notice on the wall. Other than that, it was a good place to stay.

Be aware it's a alcohol-free and smoke-free hostel! The room is pretty clean and comfortable, basic squeaky beds. The fridges for the food are definitely too small for all that people, the kitchen looked small and messy but haven't used it. Staff were warm and friendly!

This hostel has a laid-back vibe, and the staff are friendly, but hygiene isn't exactly a strong point here. Make sure to thoroughly wash your plates, cups, and utensils before using them--and clean your table too while you're at it. It's clear that cleanliness isn't a top priority, neither for the guests nor the cleaning staff. The blankets don't feel very fresh, so I'd recommend sleeping under just the sheet or bringing your own sleeping bag. Also, be aware: if one person gets diarrhea, sooner or later everyone will be in the same boat. On the positive side, everyone is kind, and there's a nice international atmosphere. Laundry costs 4 NZD, but it's just a short wash cycle, so don't expect spotless clothes. If you're up for a bit of an adventure and don't mind roughing it, it's an okay place to stay. Otherwise, you might want to explore other options.

Very good value for money. Excellent location, very central. Rooms are clean and tidy and one of the best hostels I have stayed in, in NZ. Hot water was a bit unpredictable, up and down every few seconds, however other than that, good experience.

Old beautiful building. Super close to everything from malls to boardwalks and museums. Walls are a bit thin and the outdoor area is kinda boring, between four cement walls and no sun light at all. Good prices though and staff is friendly and recommends good activities to do.

Overall fair for the price, average kitchen with limited fridge space. The room sizes are alright, small lockers in the rooms limits the space you have to secure valuables. Common spaces are pretty good overall. One thing is that it's a dry hostel, even though it doesn't say that anywhere. No signage in the hostel, you need to look very specifically on their website but it doesn't say it under the wellington location. Otherwise great location, very central downtown!!
