Microtel by Wyndham Wellington

Great budget hotel experience, I had the interior windowless queen and everything was functional and comfortable. The A/C worked, the water pressure was fine. However, there was very limited housekeeping, and this was not disclosed. For a five night stay split up between two different bookings I did not receive any housekeeping, not even a towel refresh. Location is excellent and very close to Cuba St.

Nice placement in the city and clean but overall quite awkward in its management. Design of rooms by windows is awkward for couples, with one person hard against a sloping window. Windows are directly opposite another buildings windows and the only way to get changed out of view is to shut the blackout automatic blinds. Bathroom is semi frosted glass, so you can see each other on the toilet and the door doesn't close so you can hear each other too. Noisy as you can hear other guests in hallway when sleeping. Digital reception service doesn't really work, expect 24 hours to get a response for any requests, so not really worth using despite not really having a staffed reception. Breakfast is very basic for the price charged, you can get one of the best brunches in the country for that price at several places within 500m. Overall not somewhere we would return within this price point. Other places in this price bracket are much more customer focused and warm. A few small changes could make it a really cute spot but unfortunately this wasn't the experience we had.

I had an absolutely wonderful experience at Microtel Wellington. From the moment I arrived, the staff were warm, welcoming, and extremely helpful. The check-in process was quick and efficient, and I appreciated the attention to detail and professionalism. The room was modern, spotless, and thoughtfully designed, with everything I needed for a comfortable stay. The bed was super cozy, the lighting was just right, and I loved the little touches like USB charging ports and a good-sized desk for getting work done. Despite being in the heart of the city, the room was quiet and peaceful, allowing for a great night's sleep. The location is another big plus - close to great cafes, shops, and public transport, making it easy to explore Wellington. Whether you're in town for business or leisure, Microtel offers great value for money and a high level of comfort. I'll definitely be staying here again next time I'm in Wellington. Highly recommended!

Great location! Clean, tidy and modern rooms. Bathroom was awesome with a great shower. Close to run stop (about a 5 min walk) I work in Wellington 3 days a week so will definitely be using this hotel. My queen room had a small window in the corner which was fine

Served its purpose. Here for uni and work, walking distance to the Massey campus and a variety of restaurants. Room was sufficient. Awesome shower and pressure. Weird smell on arrival ?mould, who knows. Basic amenities. Just there to sleep so did not have any issues with anything. Have booked again so safe to say its okay.

Cheap and cheerful. That's how I would summarise it. It's a simple hotel, you check in. Sleep. Comfy bed. Now if you are expecting windows (we don't have it in ours) or a super large space. This isn't the place for you. What could have been better? A tiny window!

The stay was good overall. The room was clean and tidy. Customer service could use some improvement. One thing to note is that despite contacting them in advance to request an early check-in, I still had to wait for 5 hours as check-in only starts at 2 PM. A bit more flexibility would have made the experience better.

-The reception was rushing to close at 6pm, -no wifi password or info passed to me, -she advised wrong car park spot number. - the milk in the rooms friedge is open and used!? - Reception closed at 6:10pm lol - only one sheet was left in the tissue box - no towels in the room - carpet is not vacuumed full of dust and hairs -cold wind blowing through window gaps at level 3 tilted glasses with funy blinds that gono drop down soon. very nice!!! Avoide this Hotel if you respect yourself.
