ibis Wellington

Ibis Wellington can best be described as average. The positives are the bed which was very comfortable and the shower which had very good pressure. The negatives are the bathroom in general and lack of any carpet cleaning in the corridors and the roooms. They certainly have a story to tell. In additon to this (and I understand Ibis is red) but the red doors are just tacky. Also, I would suggest staff do a walk through the corridors occasionally to collect used dishes as they were regularly seen early in the night and remaining early the following morning. The bar and restaurant is OK in typical Ibis style. Nothing inviting and of any design, just simple and very basic. The board games were a nice touch. Breakfast was OK but nothing outstanding. Overall one of the most basic Ibis Hotels I have stayed in however, for what I paid, I cannot complain too much. With a little work and not a lot of expense it could be made quite nice.

For a 3 star hotel, it is exceptional and worth more stars. Rooms are a good size, staff and service is excellent - nothing is too much trouble. They offer a range of different pillows (when I requested a different one, it arrived in 10 minutes of the request), beds are comfortable, very clean throughout & everything you need for a great stay. The breakfast buffet is excellent & there is an all day bar and cafe. Highly recommended.

Excellent hotel room and facilities. We paid additional for breakfast which was good. The staff were extremely friendly and provided a good service throughout. We had a room without a window, which is why I have reduced this review to 4/5. This may just be the bedroom type as this was a last minute booking and possibly the only room available. It did get warm, however air con was adequate. I would stay here again when visiting Wellington.

I had a pleasant experience during my stay. The staff were very helpful and polite, contributing to a welcoming atmosphere. However, the room had some minor dust, particularly around the desk and the corners of the room. There are only 15 car parks available at the property, so I recommend booking in advance to ensure your vehicle can be conveniently parked on-site overnight, rather than on the street.

The places I was looking to stay were both booked up at my allowable rate, so I booked in here. What a great surprise! The King business suite is wonderful! Spacious, clean, quiet. Perfect spot to walk from. I went to the waterfront each day; the shopping strip was nearby, the cable car was withing 2 blocks. I will definitely stay here again. Everyone at the front desk was so friendly and helpful. Even with a bunch of softball players staying here, I was still surprised at how quiet it was.

I was here for just one night. Very convenient location. The staff is amazing, so kind and funny. The breakfast was decent. The rooms are colorful, just like the entire hotel. Not everything new and shiny, as expected for such a big hotel. Good value for the money. I would come again.

We stayed two nights while on a driving holiday. They do have some parking, but it is limited to one level under the hotel, so make sure you reserve parking when making a booking. We ate one at the attached restaurant and it was good. The room was comfortable and all facilities worked OK. We appreciated the central location, close to show and the cable car.

Great experience here. The hotel is conveniently located for shopping and food. I love that they offer a variety of pillow options for your comfort. Another bonus is the laundry machines on floors 1 and 9. You will need two $2.00 coins to operate each machine. Make sure you contact and coordinate parking prior to arrival as the car park has very limited spots for a fee that you pay the hotel. I overlooked this and had to pay for street parking for one night before we could get a spot in the car park. The rooms are nice, clean, and spacious. The staff was very friendly. We enjoyed playing cards and drink service down in the lounge/lobby area.
