The parking is steep if you are booking a room and have a rental. ||It would be a quaint place because it gives off rustic type vibes. The location is prime and that is what you are really paying for. You have Te Papa, the waterfront, eateries, shows, theatres, Cuba Street, all within 5-10 walking distance of this location. ||However the vibes we were getting was Bates Motel vibes. Our group booked two rooms as there was 6 of us visiting from Auckland. They allowed us to book in early which cost us $30 per room to check in early. The first room outside 24 that was booked for our group was flooded even though staff said it was ready. We mean from the bathroom all the way to the front door the entire carpet was soaked. ||They responded fast by putting our group in a room upstairs.||Room 28 had two hand prints in the wall directly across from the door, toilet door didn't stay close when you closed it, dishes had to rewash them when we wanted to use them. Toilet didn't flush properly and the shower water pressure was not great.||The second room 12 was better at least the toilet and shower pressure were good. The thing holding the shower head was loose, the door didn't remain close si we had to put a towel on the door so that it stayed closed. ||Beds were comfy but blankets and sheets had stains on them at the bottom. You wouldn't know it until you inspected them.

Only good thing is the location. Very close to a lot of good eateries. Booked the room through Booking.com, and it was nothing like the photos. I should have done my research before booking. Nobody at reception, I had to ring a number, with no answer. Eventually I had a call back to tell me the lockbox code for the room key. The room was hard to find, the place is like a rabbit warren. Had to pay extra for parking!! Yucky smell in the old, outdated room. Obvious water damage and mould in the room. I could go on and on. Due diligence people. Find elsewhere to stay.

Well it was before the date shown. I had gone to New Zealand to visit family and decided to go to Wellington for a visit. There was no reception and the entrance was dismal to say the least. At the back of the 'hotel' it was decidedly scruffy and noted a syringe on the floor in the carpark, luckily no needle with it.|In the room electrical plugs were falling off the wall and appliances not working correctly. As there was no reception just who to contact was a mystery. The beds were not really clean ( underneath was spider webs and mould. The shower was mouldy as well. It was safer just to have a quick wash in the morning and luckily leave without catching some kind of disease.|Definitely not a place I will willingly go to again. The photo is of the back of the hotel and I assure you that it is slightly better than the front, but only just!

Check in process was remote and required a phone call to access the keys. Friendly voice on the phone. Room was very clean and comfortable. Nice shared kitchen. 4x room numbers in a quaint cottage off the street. Our room had a small patio in back. Easy walk to downtown Wellington.

Nothing like the photos, old outdated and smelly building with well-worn carpet and fixings. Mould in bathroom, none of the lights worked in there and cockroaches in the room. Only benefit is that it was cheap(ish), but still not worth it due to the grubbiness of the room and close to town. You pay for what you get, cheap but not worth it.

We checked out of the property on the 20th we were booked in for 5 nights only lasted 2due to the numerous issues that clearly demonstrate the property does not meet acceptable standards. Upon arrival, we found a stained coffee cup in the bedroom left by previous guests, there was no air conditioning, and a window that rattled. Additionally, there was soot on the light bulb, and the electrical issue over the single bed was alarming. The walls needed a thorough cleaning, with visible mold on the windows. Furthermore, we experienced a lack of professionalism when we arrived, as the receptionist was not on-site to provide us with our key or check us in. We waited 20 minutes for him to arrive, only to be told that "room 18 is before room 19," which was condescending. When he eventually arrived, the key was not in the lockbox, leading to more frustration, and we were given a different room key without proper explanation

The location is excellent. Handy to the main restaurant areas. The price was not bad. Parking is a bit tight. The rooms were quite big and the bed was nice and soft.

Location fantastic, but that's about it. $284 for a motel unit for one night, very basic and dated, fridge way past it's sell by date (see picture), rooms wierd, plug by your head. Bathroom very old. However the place was clean, would I stay there again, maybe !
