I stay in Wellington far too often, this is the first hotel I have stayed in where I got a great nights sleep with no outside noise. Even the best hotels in Wellington seem to be noisy but not at the Hilton. |The rooms themselves are spacious and well appointed and the bathrooms were large and clean. |The restaurant for breakfast had the usual buffet items, the pastries were warm and the coffee was good. |I'll be looking to book next time I am in Wellington

Disappointing Return - Not What It Used to Be We were really looking forward to our stay at the Hilton DoubleTree Wellington, having had a wonderful experience here five years ago. Sadly, this visit was a major letdown. We booked a Deluxe Room with 2 Queen Beds for three people (my parents and I), but the online booking system kept resetting to just one guest. Because of this, we were charged extra on arrival--a frustrating start that felt unfair given it was a technical error. The beds were far too soft, and after only two nights, all three of us left with sore hips and back pain. The room had no view and was filled with constant noise, possibly from the elevator or plumbing, making it difficult to rest. The ironing board was uneven and nearly ruined our clothes; thankfully, we had our own ironing pad. The shower gel was extremely watered down, and the a la carte breakfast was just okay--nothing special. While most of the staff were fine, the assistant manager at the front desk and in the restaurant stood out for their excellent service and professionalism. It's disappointing because we had such fond memories of this place. Unfortunately, it no longer lives up to its previous standard, now it feels run down, and we won't be returning.

Clean room. The heater can only go up to 23C. The bed was super cold at night. The room doors were surprisingly very thick and heavy. The elevators look very old. Reflects how old the hotel is but the rooms are nice.

The rooms were very interesting and comfortable. Parking was a bit difficult as you had to go to a ramp with very tight spaces. Breakfast was very good and it was an easy walk to the waterfront and all of the restaurants there. It was across the street from the tram ride to the observatory and botanical gardens. Not far from the ferry terminal.

We paid nearly $500 for a room and checked in to our room, there is ONE car park to load and unload and no one helps. We checked in and left our bags and got told they would bring them to our room. We went shopping for 3 hours. Came back and our bags will still sitting in reception. We asked if they would be brought up, got asked for a luggage tag. We said we had never been given one. Got told that was strange. After an hour in the room we called down and got told they cannot bring our bags up. We are happy to bring our own bags up in the beginning but got told not to. Phone didn't work in the room, called off our cell phone and got told to come get bags so we did. They make it difficult to order room service through a janky app where you need to enter all your details even tho they already have all your details. The room was freezing when we arrived. Over all staff haven't been great to deal with. For the cost of the room expected a lot more. Second and last time staying here.

This is a fantastically located hotel. Right in the center of town with many shops, bars and restaurants an easy walk.||Check in was fast and friendly. Front desk staff were always nice.||The room was well outfitted and spotlessly clean.||There was some room noise at night which was annoying - this was internal from doors banging, elevators, shower / bathroom noises etc.||Food at the restaurant and served in the room was excellent quality. The waitress / front desk at Grazie restaurant was lovely and brightened up my days.||Would recommend for anyone looking for a well placed hotel with good food options.

It's in a great location where you can walk to restaurants and shops. The parking garage is a bit 'wonky'. We had to go around the street (they are one ways), pull in and almost up to hotel, there's a fountain and benches in front. Then my husband had to go back around to park in the garage. Cookies are always good. They have a great restaurant, Grazie. Great food. Rooms are spacious and comfy. We would stay again.

I booked this hotel online due to its location and apparent quality offering for our 3 night stay. The hotel is a previous commercial CBD building of some historical significance, with the usual associated features. ||Staff at check-in were friendly and helpful. Upon arriving at our room however we were greeted with a very small dark corner room with a window facing the neighbouring office building, not what I was expecting. I enquired with reception as to whether an alternative room was available and for an additional $15 pn was given a much more suitable and light room with a window overlooking Lambton Quay.||With this minor disruption behind us we were then able to enjoy the Hotel. The location is excellent, almost directly over the road from the Cable Car providing direct access to the Botanic Gardens. Houses of Parliament, Te Papa Museum and Cuba Street are only a short walk away. Plenty of good restaurants, cafes and bars and also located in the vicinity. ||The room itself was well maintained. The bed was heaven to sleep on. Bathroom features and products were of a high standard. There were a few quirky things associated with a room that has been retro-fitted (bar fridge in stand-alone cabinet) but nothing of any significance. ||We opted for the breakfast option and were pleasantly surprised. A good range of alternatives was on offer. I consider it was fair value for money. ||Overall, I thought the hotel was comfortable, convenient, quiet and met our expectations (once an appropriate room had been provided).
