Courtenay Village Apartments

Easy to find, set well back from the street, quiet, clean and an excellent location. The only drawback was the construction immediately outside of our room, but we weren't there during the day so it didn't disturb us. A couple of things were broken like serving spoons and a knife. There was no can opener which was inconvenient but otherwise the place was great. Recommended and we would stay again.

Very clean and spacious 2 bedrooms, large toilet with washer and drier, equipped kitchen with dishwasher and ovens, and a cozy balcony. We loved the place. It's location is excellent too - walkable to Te Papa, tram, the pier, supermarket, shopping, and eating. Multitude of eating options within a five minute walk.

Was a great home base for my stay in Wellington. Everything close by and just a quick walk away or a very quick taxi ride. Lovely rooms and facilities. Will definitely be on my list of places to stay next time I need to come to town. Was very quiet even with a building site outside you hardly heard them. Felt quite safe arriving home in the dark after dinner out.

We stayed here as a family of four for 3 nights. The apartment was spacious and in a great location, close to everything. The whiteware appliances and TV were really good to have and shower pressure was excellent. The bad: When we arrived, the apartment had a musky smell so had to open the balcony door for a while until it left. The furniture seriously needs updating as look and felt worn and knackered. The beds were nice but the pillows were too soft. Also there was construction going off next to the building all day from 7:30am (sometimes earlier) till 5pm, luckily it didn't wake our kids up. We were out most of the time so wasn't much of an issue for us. This place could be so much better, especially with the price tag.

Room 6. 2 bedroom apartment everything was good & tidy. However the shower was cold so rang service they came when we was out. But shower was only Luke warm & the next morning was cold again. Should of been fixed before guests arrived.

On the positive side, it is spacious, with 20' ceilings and has a new washer/ dryer. The rest of this review all fits into the negative category. This property is sorely in need of refurbishing. The furniture looks like it was purchased from a second hand store twenty years ago. The "decor" is non- existent. There is one piece of "art" and no color, other than dirty beige and gray. The lighting is very dim, like a third world country. The only place you can see to read is in bed, where there's a light on the wall above the bed. The windows and door to the balcony are filthy, as is the balcony itself. The balcony has 2 simple chairs (one needing repair) and it overlooks rooftops of the buildings next door. The other side of the building is an open pit that is under construction (with accompanying noise). The location on Courtenay Place puts it in central Wellington and is easy walking distance to everything in the CBD. Unlike Cuba Street, which is funky and fun, Courtenay Place has a sleazy feeling. While the kitchen and bathroom both function, the whole place needs a remodeling to make it worth the price being charged.

Lovely place to stay and enjoy Wellington CBD, however, apartment does not have air conditioning, no locks in bathroom door, rubbish disposal bins, if staying more than a week, no appropriate bins for disposal - had to use public bins which is always full, especially at Courtenay Place. Also no mixer taps in the bathroom.

Location excellent close to lots of eateries and Te Papa also very quiet. ||Spacious with comfortable bed and good water pressure in shower. ||Carpet is aged and some curtains didn't cover bedroom windows but rooms are priced according. ||Has a bag holding facility close by that we found very useful on our last day. ||Our family where happy here and would recommend it to others.
