Settlers Motor Lodge

I booked 4 rooms 1 had no hot water the 4 units only had their towels replaced once, so they dried their towel and reused them. The cleaners did not understand english. So pretty much my family that traveled near and far and they didn't like anything about it. There was also no fire alarms in room 2 and 16. Poor service the lady in the office will be on the phone having a personal conversation that had nothing to do with a customer, while there were 4 people waiting for her service. I will not book a room in that motel ever again.

I don't know where to start have stayed here twice now and both times let down. The first time I stayed my room didn't have a working toilet(they fixed immediately) Had a horrible damp smell and broken lock. Room is very outdated but bed was somewhat comfy. Second visit a year later still out dated and had a horrible smell. I was visited by the police very late evening due to other people staying which seems to be a regular occurrence. Thier were Ants all through the kitchen and found my food. THE FRIDGE FREEZER stopped working and melted all over my groceries which set me back. For a quick sleepover and the price you can't go wrong I guess. However if wanting a relaxing rest skip this place!! Sorry for the harsh review however all the best in resolving these things!

When I arrived I had go down the road to get a key lucky I had a car as it was pouring down with rain. I had to call the number on the notice to try to get the key. When I got in my room it was dirty, no towels etc. When i got my towels they had black marks over them. There was no wifi or phone. It looked like that the Cafe had been closed for along time so no breakfast or a drink at the bar. Everything they had said about the place was not true.

No reception, have to go to near by motel to get and drop keys. Outsides used to come and park in the motel compound and goes out for personal needs. Room are of good and housekeeping done a good job. Wash room menities in small bottles are of good standard but not sure why the empty squeeze soap dispensers are still in wash room.

Unhelpful staff, no answer on the phone to the pre-organised late check in, only managed to check in after knocking on the staff house's doors for 40 minutes in the rain. Rooms very dirty and outdated. Would strongly reccomend staying elsewhere.

Waste of money.. Bathroom was dirty .. shower wall was caved in.. towels were stained and wet Hair all over the bed oven covered in grease bench top covered in crumbs.. Communication was shxt had 2 walk a block to get keys from another property... Dog shxt all over the grass.. Blankets thrown inthe garden razors inthe yard No working wifi or tv Paid 270 to stay here Wouldn't recommend staying here even if you were desperate

I've never written a review before but felt the need to do so after my stay here. |After an unexpected stay in Wellington I booked this place rather late as it looked good on the photos. |Upon arriving to what looked to be a derelict hotel site. No signage what so ever I rang the number and was told to go to a different hotel to get the key 100m up the road. When opening the room I was greeted with the smell of what I can only assume is the most powerful and disgusting cleaning agent that forensic teams use for cleaning m****r scenes (probably not but it's how. I can describe it) the place was dirty 4 different iron prints from where someone had left the iron on the carpet and it the whole place looked to be unused for quite some time. Bo side lamps like the picture and tv remote didn't work. Bathroom was gross with a thick layer of dust on the chipped 1970s vanity bench. and after pullling sheets back it looked like crumbs or probably dead skin on the sheets. Had no choice but to stay. Slept in my clothes wearing my shoes Booked for 2 nights could only manage 1

Scruffy and dirty. No laundry facilities as advertised. Have to go to a secondary address for keys. And had bright orange lights in my face all night. Not a fan.
