Fernhill Motor Lodge

So grateful to this lovely couple who found us a room at short notice . We had just had a very unfortunate encounter with the place we had booked into before our early ferry sailing, and needed to find something quickly that allowed dogs. They were very helpful, even helping with the logistics of parking our caravan.

AMAZING!! My family and i stayed here for a night in a 3 bedroom suite we were really happy with the value we received for the price we payed. The room was immaculate and really comfortable,The beds were the best was like sleeping on a cloud. The host is gorgeous and so helpful we did not have a prior booking however she was more than happy to help ....really recommend staying here you will not regret it....we will definitely be coming back soon .

One of the worst motels I've stayed at No sound proofing meant the room above us kept us up all night banging and crashing Motel dated and in desperate need of attention Bed terribly uncomfortable Over priced !! Just because you have a pet travelling with you does not mean you get away with over charging for sub standard accommodation

After being turned away from the hotel we had previously booked (with no apologies), we were feeling stressed. We crossed the road to see if there were any vacancies at Fernhill. They took us in with no issues and even provided a portacot for our baby. The room was very nice with a big king-sized (I think) bed and big open lounge space. It was perfect for us. Very affordable, too. We had a nice night in and were very grateful

This is still a very good option for those like us needing close proximity to the ferry. It was clean (apart from the glassware needing re-washing) and everything worked as it should. Unfortunately, the pricing has increased quite a lot since our last stay and was the most expensive of all the places we stayed at in the North Island over the 3 weeks. Still, we'll probably stay again.

Most courteous and helpful very pleasant staff. This motel is close to town, only 13 easy minutes walk, we would certainly stay here again if we come back. The rooms were clean and tidy, well appointed as expected, and the bed was first class, for a great nights sleep. The bed in this particular motel room we had, is the best bed that we have sleep in, in any hotel anywhere in the world, and that is saying something! There is plenty of car parking available. Only downside, the area metres down the road appears to be frequented by unemployed able bodied winz accommodated people, just loitering about, which is of concern.

Location is good. The whole place needs a tidy up. Room had missing handles from cupboards. Saw random people with dog without a leash walking in the carpark.

Location was handy to where we needed to be. Rooms could do with a little attention here and there. Would be nice to have a sheet over the duvet inner..to act as a cover that gets changed with the sheets..eek! It was fine over all.
