Dupont Motels

Made a booking through booking.com and got a room allocates however when reached at motel, I was given a different room. Interesting part starts here, joinery of kitchenette floor and room carpet had the nail out which pintched us badly many a times. Along with this, the calling phone wasn't working at all. Got the room changed to another only to find more issues there. Leaky wash area, washroom lock wasn't working and the exhaust fan was not working at all. I believe, a lot of maintenance work needs to be conducted in these 2 room and not sure about other rooms. Only good thing about it is, its location and some of the staff (but not all) is courteous. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone I know.

Absolutely disgusting! Dirty and run down, we arrived to stay for 4 days we ended up leaving and finding elsewhere. We had to ask for a pan, milk, a knife a tea towel we had no dish cloth the rubbish bin would fit 1 thing in it the fridge did not work and all our food went off. It's extremely dirty and has broken tiles oven ect. The staff in reception did the best they could and were gelpfull, but clearly they don't run the place. We will definitely not be back stay away also people asking if you want to buy drugs there!

Had to ask for towels, got given 2 well worn hard towels. Asked for flannels, got told no. Bedside lamp had no bulb in it. Apart from cutlery there was only a fish slice, sharp knife, peeler and tongs for preparing meals. Not even a can opener. No kitchen plug, Had to ask for a teatowel. Most drawers completely empty. Only an electric blanket in wardrobe. Bit grubby. Had booked 2 bedroom apartment for 5 people. There's only one carpark for that unit. Sign says over 60 sky channels, but there isn't. Was overcharged on the already overpriced room too.

Beyond bad. I am only disappointed that I didn't take more photos - but I was in too much shock. The room looked nothing like what was advertised on their website. I had booked a two room apartment and planned to cook dinner in the unit. I complained about the room and asked for a refund as the oven was unworkable and unhygienically dirty. And the bathroom floor was covered in cracked tiles. I was offered another room. Oven was worse in that one - covered in white mould. I Asked again for a refund. They tried to offer me a unit - all in one room - not what I'd booked for a family. Reception told me they could do nothing and that I had to email 'management' in Auckland. I've done so. I'm requesting a full refund. This is a zero star motel. Terrible service. DO NOT BOOK TO STAY HERE. We had to book an alternative property. The Du Pont motel was so bad. Nothing like the advertised product. I await my refund.

First off, we turned up and the motel was abandoned. There was a sign plastered on the door directing us to the DuPont motel down the road. Which was also not staffed. We had to phone a number and wait ten mins for the one staff member who worked over three motels. She informed us settlers was not usable due to a cleanliness issue (ewww) and advised us we could stay at the DuPont instead. When she showed us the "upgraded" room. The front door had been kicked in and badly repaired, there were no towels, holes in the walls and dirt smeared on the walls. The curtains were ripped and in tatters and to top it off the only other inhabitants were smoking weed in the room next door. The receptionist informed us it was a govt emergency housing facility for homeless people. The place was terrifying and we did not feel safe staying here with our children. We asked for a refund as it did not match the description. The receptionist gave us an email address and they are refusing to refund. DO NOT BOOK!!!

The service was awful, don't come here unless you are really desperate for a cheap and sketchy place. Right before we went to pay they included a $100 bond, the next day as we left we asked about the bond, it came as a surprise to the new receptionist, she recorded our bank details down, if we hadn't have asked we wouldn't have received our bond money back. The night we stayed people were outside talking and arguing past midnight. The room itself was good, the place was clean and tidy.

Wish there was a negative review section.. We booked the room and rang them to advise we were arriving late and would check in late. Person who answered confirmed and gave me room number and how to get the key. Arrived close to midnight, got the key and went to room. Had booked a triple room for my husband, son (17) and me. The room that was given was a double room. When I called the numbers provided for after hours, they got angry because I had called to complain. I had specifically booked the room I wanted with full details that it was 3 adults. I have done late check ons a lot of times but never had such horrible service. Never booking at this place again.

Great place to stay handy to Petone. Wonderful staff so friendly and especially young Savoj what a lovely lady and so helpful. Big shout out to Harman what a wonderful person to deal with. So helpful and friendly. All round great place great staff Thank you
