Holiday Inn Express Ramsey-Mahwah by IHG

The bed was comfortable. The shower was adequate. But I really don't like the floor plan that puts the sink outside the shower/toilet room; it's difficult to get cleaned up quietly without bothering another person in the room. In general, the hotel is showing it's age as well. Any staff we interacted with was helpful and polite. The breakfast was good but typical of the included breakfasts offered in many chains. The location was reasonably convenient - we were coming across the Cuomo bridge heading south so it was mostly on our way but we had some distance through community streets to get to it. It was good enough getting from the hotel to the NJ parkways.

Front Desk was very courteous, helpful and smiling. Bfast area was well supervised. Everything was great. Love the parking and EV charging which I used. I got a room away from the elevator but I think if your room is by the elevator, it could be bothersome.

Positive: It fits my needs as well as the location is great. Staff friendly. Very clean rooms. Easy to get too and great parking. Rates are reasonable for so much positivity. Negative: Being in a room that faces the main highway as it is pretty noisy from the traffic.

The location of the hotel is perfect to get to nearby restaurants and shopping. The room was clean and tidy. I wondered why there was a drain on the bathroom floor and quickly learned after I flooded the floor during my shower due to my own error. There is a microwave and fridge which was helpful. Despite the room being in the lobby right next to the elevator, it was quiet. Breakfast was tasty and very adequate with good coffee. The only drawback was the window blind was permanently down with no way I could see to raise it. I had a problem when booking online; I thought I was booking through the hotel but it was a 3rd party. That's a separate issue I need to address.

Very personable employees always helpful. Front desk and General manager went out of the way to accommodate any request I made. Room exceeded my expectations and was quiet given the closeness to a main travel artery. The breakfast offering also exceeded expectation and was well prepared. Overall experience was very pleasant.

My wife and I were both extremely happy with our stay. Everything was perfect from check-in to checkout. Clean comfortable room and breakfast was more than we expected. We definitely be staying there again

Positive: Good breakfast, small gym, dumbbells up to 45, high end bike, elliptical and treadmill. Two "piblic" bathrooms on the first floor. Walkable to chilis and brothers barbeque (the latter gives you 10% off when you stay at this hotel). Negative: Staying on the back side of the hotel with the 2 queen bed room selection eliminates the road noise from route 17. the king bed rooms have infiltrating road noise from route 17. King bed rooms are on that side of the road and 2 queen rooms on the back

They have one of the BEST breakfasts I've ever seen. I don't know if they always have this spread, but they had something I've never seen at a hotel: biscuits and gravy! Absolutely worth it!
