We arrived in Nepalgunj on our way to Bardia national park. We had no reservation and looked at a few hotels before coming to Batika. Most places we saw were overpriced, not very clean or in a noisy street. Batika is nothing like it, it sits quietly just off the main road, the room was clean with airco and cost us 2000 NPR breakfast included. Staff greeted us overwhelmingly friendly and made sure there was not one mosquito alive in our room before we checked in. The hotel is under new management and they are on to something! Unpretentious, genuinely people! The chef prepared me an amazing chili oyster chicken dish which made my day, and honestly made me decide to stay another night! I can't recommend this place enough! Thank you hotel Batika, everyone at reception, service and in the kitchen for a memorable 2 days!

We were here for 5 days and we found this hotel to be a classic one. The rooms are quite old but renovated ones. Organizing big events might be useful as they have big hall. Food quality is good but they serve it slow. Be careful of your are too hungry!!
Stayed at Batika Om Resorts, Nepalgunj twice in a span on 15 days. The Resort is good for spending day or two even with families...||||Location||=======||A very good location just on the highway connecting India Nepal Border which is around 2 to 3 Kms away from the hotel. Also the tiny NEPALGUNJ AIRPORT is at a short distance so that you can reach to the Airport in time. Market areas and eateries are nearby so that one can go for some shopping or munch on some tasty food...||||Resort||======||Though resort looked old but the same is neatly maintained and clean. The staff service was good. Found many numbers of rooms though I do not know the exact count. The hotel premise is good; large open are in front of the hotel itself.||||Rooms||======||Rooms are neat and clean with clean toilets. ACs too functioned well. The Bed was good to have a sound sleep with clean linen... The Bathroom was very neat and clean.||||Restaurant||=========||Restaurant serves Buffet and Ala-Carte food and taste was good. The restaurant serves Veg and Non Veg options with availability of most of the branded liquors...||||Overall, it was a pleasant stay at Batika Om Resorts.
Place is good with nice garden and silent environment but staffs are a bit lazy in morning couldn't get a cup of tea till 8:00am as nobody was awake. Couldn't get WiFi in the room due to some technical problems besides informing them since 1 day. Food quality is good. Needs a bit improvement in service as it is the oldest renowned hotel in Nepalgunj .
I thought I was in for a pleasant stay as I drove up the impressive palm lined driveway. With the temperature in the low 40's I was looking for some respite from the heat. However, the hotel was undergoing extensive renovations, with dust from grinding everywhere, mattresses out in the hallway, a dining room in an absolute mess, and yet management saw fit to have accepted my reservation some weeks earlier. The room I was shown had no toilet seat, a broken window for guests in the garden to look through, and a "1960-style" air conditioner, blowing out hot air.||||i had no option but to retrieve my luggage and walk out in disgust, and amazed that management were prepared to let me stay in this hotel under such conditions. If this is the way they operate their business, then I can only say, never think of staying at this establishment.
Typical 2 star hotel ,room service is average. Room cleaniness is not as per standard, Bathroom is worst.only good thing is air conditioning. Restaurants open at morning 0700 before that they do not able to provide even cup of tea and they totally deny. In one word its lower then average experience to stay here.
The best thing about this hotel is that the location is really quiet. It is located off the main road so you don't get much noise from outside. They also have nice grounds where you can walk around and enjoy some of the plants. I paid 700 rupees per night for a non-A/C room and it included internet and bottled drinking water. I thought that my room needed to be re-painted desperately, the walls were grimy, and the bathroom should be updated (leaking water, kind of old-looking). I wish I would have taken a look at the pool but I didn't.
I stayed at this hotel for 1 night before starting my mt Kailash journey and for a few hours in between flights on the return leg||This hotel is frequently used as a base camp at Nepalgunj for pilgrims starting their journey to mt Kailash and Manasarovar ||The trip from Nepalgunj airport takes about 20 min one way||Nepalgunj is about 150M above sea level and very hot (UpTo 40 degrees C)||The aircon at the hotel rooms were a welcome relief from the heat. ||Standby generator works and was often in use during my stay. It was able to keep the aircon going which is a big plus||The food is acceptable. ||Toilets were clean and did not smell bad.||Showers did not always work due to water pressure issues though some fellow travellers did report they were able to have a wash||beds were also fine and the room clean||Staff were friendly and did their best||If possible try and get a room in the newer wing which was a bit cooler with more spacious rooms .||||||||
