Helsa Resort

Close to Mon town but also secluded... excellent food if you like Naga food ..

This is a marvelous place! It is built like a Naga village, and the rooms are beautiful. They are nicely decorated and it seems most have balconies (which we didn't use given we were there in the winter). The main hall where you dine is also lovely and the staff is wonderful. The food was delicious and plentiful. We would love to return in the warm weather and take advantage of this lovely place again.

Consisting of a traditional Nagal style 'morung' style building that serves as reception and restaurant with cootage styel rooms set around a large courtyard the Helsa Morung is well situated for visiting the local villages of Longwa and Hongpoi. The rooms/cottages are basic with a bamboo screen that leads onto a balcony overlooking the forest. A basic bathroom with water heater work ok but the towles provided were small and thin. It does get cold in winter and the staff gave us hot water bottles and extra blankets and pillows. The small staff serve up some lovely food for breakfast and dinner, no menu you get what is made for you, and the evening is rounded off sitting around the open fire in the morung. Very peaceful except when the owner son decides to have a full on birthday party, then not so much. We wouldnt have minded but we had to be up early. It is wirth mentioning that Nagaland is effectivey a dry state so it is good idea to purchase a bottle or two for the quiet evenings if you like a dram or simialr of an evening. We were the only guests when we stayed and I doubt they ever get very busy.

Helsa morung is exactly the place i needed to Relax & Recharge after a long drive from Dibrugarh. The cottages in this place are basic but clean, the most lovable thing is the food here. Food was very delicious. If you are travelling in remote area and you if you find this kind of food so your travelling is complete with the happy face .

Mon is small city of Nagaland, and if ask people about this place 90% people are not aware of this resort. It's little difficult to find the cottage resort as there is no board or sign. That's why we added it to the map :). Once you are near there is small uphill off-road to the resort. Cottages are very nice and well maintained, it gives you rustic feeling and it's well ventilated with big size rooms. Food was awesome, when we were there the cook was from Nepal and he had good experiences of Indian food. We loved food.

This lodge was part of our 7 sister tour of North east of India. The lodge is very friendly, clean and serves good food. In fact some of the best food was served here for us. The lodge is located in middle of a dense jungle on the Mon - Longwa road. We would highly recommend this place to anybody visiting Mon

An ideal place to hang out with friends or family. Peaceful environment and pollution free. Naga food and Indian food in all styles available.

It is like camping without being in a tent. Great room. So-so power supply. Good food and dining hall. Wood fire. But seasonal at present. The staff we had were great but moving on so I don't know how the culture is maintained. Worth a visit.
