The location was really secluded and private with not much traffic noise. The hotel is old but in good condition. The room was quite clean, but the tv and WiFi does not work. They even have a restaurant attached so you can order your dinner lunch and breakfast. For dinner it has to be ordered at 6pm and it will be served around 8pm. The service was really good with hospitable people.
A great place to stay if you want a sense of how the British lived here a century ago. It's a peaceful place and runs at a slow pace. A touch on the spartan side when it comes to heating and bathrooms. We enjoyed it enormously for the atmosphere but not everyone will find it so appealing. Depends where you come from, what you want and on your expectations. Thank you . . . .
Steeped in history--this was the site of the decisive Battle of Kohima during the 2nd World War--and very well-maintained, this property exudes old-world charm and elegance. The staff are extremely well-behaved and went out of their way to accommodate all requests and make my stay fantastic. The food is also very good. Staying here was a very pleasant experience and its happy memories will stay with me forever. So much so that I've promised myself to return and spend a couple of days at least here
It is a very nice place to hang out and for having breakfast, lunch and dinner too. We get the best chicken pokoda here. One must try it when you visit. The food quality is good and quite reasonable. The surrounding to this place is incredibly beautiful and quite. The place is very spacious and breathtakingly beautiful. . We can book it for various occasions like weddings, parties, meetings etc. Parking is also available. During wedding seasons, it's fully booked most of the time. If you're looking for a nice place for wedding, you must book this Place, you won't regret it.
Duration of Stay - 8th to 11th Jan 2018||||Location - The hotel is located at Officer's Hill, a quieter neighbourhood in an otherwise busy town Kohima. While the roads of the town gets dusty and noisy with traffic during the day, the place around hotel stays peaceful and pleasant throughout the day and gets even quieter during night. However the hotel is still within 3 km distance form most of the important destinations including the NST bus stop, War cemetery, Catholic Church etc.||||Ambience - As mentioned in the hotel description, it's a heritage building turned into a hotel and staying there you can feel the flavour of living in colonial time. Aside from that, the hotel looks absolutely beautiful, especially during the morning hours when sunlight reflects on the glass windows all around the house. ||There is only one main house where all the rooms are located. This building comes on the left side as you enter the main gate of hotel. On the right side there is a banquet place, which is rented for weddings. Going ahead the road turns left around the main building and goes to a different street through an exit gate.||||Rooms - Rooms are also vintage looking like the rest of the place with wooden furniture and glass windows. The room I stayed in had a strange triangular shape and had windows all across the wall facing outside. All basic necessities are provided in the room including bed, TV and cupboard. There was a heater in the room which helped a lot during the cold nights and the bathroom had geyser availing hot water any time of the day.||||Food - Food options were limited, but whatever I ordered turned out to be tasty.
I had come here for my friends wedding but ended up staying 3 days. The place is Old DC bungalow.the rooms are big and the food is tasty and organic. The place is at an hill top so you get an awesome view of Kohima town. At night time looking around is beautiful as you look at the lit town and a clear starry sky. ||||It really is a the best place to stay and explore naga hills .
Heritage is one of the best and value for money stay options in Kohima. It was previously a DC's bungalow, now converted to a hotel. It has that rustic old world's charm. We had a memorable stay here albeit with some hiccups.||Pros:||1. Cozy room with comfortable bed||2. Great food (The vegetarian food (North Indian/ Indo-Chinese cuisine) was surprisingly tasty for Nagaland)||3. Convenient location (heart of the city)||4. Courteous staff (apart from the point highlighted below)||||||Cons:||1. Wifi wasnt working for the initial couple of days and was very slow for the rest of the days.||2. Plumbing in the bathroom needs maintenance (Water inflow was annoyingly slow. So annoying that I am having to write it down here.)||3. Disrespectful staff - The staff, who were otherwise very courteous and helpful, tended to try to bluff us when we complained about the above issues. The bluff was obviously caught, but i played along, so as to not spoil my vacation.||4. The rooms are not sound proof, so was a little noisy. ||||I would still recommend the hotel for the location and food!
