One of the good home stays in Kohima. The host and staff made our stay comfortable. They serve great local food and very helpful during our stay

Razhu pru||A quaint old bungalow that is restored which is now working as a guest house. We stayed there for the new years from 29th Dec -5th Jan.|I want to give a very honest review of the place as we were there a long time. Chose a wrong time to be in Kohima as all restaurants and coffee shops etc were shut. And we were totally dependent on the property for our meals requirement.|What works -|Quaint old bungalow with a lot of character.|Location.|Cleanliness average. The towels were changed when we asked but the rooms were only cleaned twice. |The fireplace and the sitting area. |Heaters in the rooms|The staff is helpful.||What doesn't work-|The food. Is -5 and it's exorbitant. |The pricing is not mentioned or informed before hand. There's no menu so you don't know what you order will cost you like a five star hotel. The two days that we did eat out was much cheaper than the property and palatable, and better quality as well. The breakfast was complimentary but they charged us for ordering extra omlettes. |They charged us for tea. Which was basically only water and tea bags. |Not even tea north india style. And which we assumed was also complimentary. The vegetables and main dishes lacked flavour. And were very expensive. They served food in a buffet style and charged us like a la cadre .. I wonder how that must've happened ?! How did they figure we ate 5 dams out of a big container of dal?! or we had 5 portions of rice from a huge container for rice. They could've charged us per plate and also informed us what it costs us ! |Basically the food is the most negative point about the place. |Drinking water - Each time we asked for water they sent us mineral water bottles. I wasn't impressed as we stayed there a long time and we wasted a lot of plastic bottles but besides they charged us for the water bottles. |Did we say no to RO water bottles.. No. |Did we want to be billed for water for 10 pax. No. |Were we informed about the charges of water bottles. No. |Cleanliness - the rooms were only cleaned twice. The kitchen is shabby ... I was horrified to see how they store the food. |One time use plastic fills the place.. with aluminium pots and pans.. for the kind of prices they charge they must clean up their act. As what makes a boutique property stand apart is the quality of service and cleanliness. The kitchen napkins almost made me puke.. it was so smelly. I was literally aghast to see the condition of the kitchen and the maintenance. one time use plastic containers ?!!! Everything plastic and everything aluminium and everything very dirty and smelly !!!! |The rooms - despite being there for 8 days the housekeeper locked the rooms with windows saying they are booked by a wedding group. Which never arrived. We were given the dingy rooms with pitch dark interiors and no light what so ever. The rooms alievation is lopsided. You can fall if not mindful about it. When asked the house keeper casually said that room seems to be sinking from one side. |The carpets are synthetic fibre fur. Which is not even dusted regularly. Only the girl who does the cleaning is good at her job. When asked to clean the bathroom she did it well. ||To sum it up I'd say - the property is great but it's Time for them to hire someone professional to run it. It should either run as a Homestay , a guest house or a hotel. Right now it is neither. And trust me the food outside is way cheaper and better quality. |Stay here if you really want to but confirm what rooms you are allotted before hand. |And ask for a menu and prices before ordering, you will be shocked to see their prices later ! |My recommendation -|I would suggest the house owner hires a professional group to come train the lot running the property in hygiene and cleanliness. |The menu and prices be published.|Breakfast if complimentary should not be charged later. Tea bags normally are not charged anywhere. |The staff wil do well with some amount of professional training.|Stay short. The house doesn't service well for long stays. |Come during season so you have options outside for lunch and dinner.

Heritage Hotel . Well kept. Full of Flowers. Very loving and caring care taker. Cleanliness and ventilation in room is not good. Wooden floor makes a lot of noise.

It's a good and peaceful place for those people wanting to getaway from their busy life. The rooms are also in a retro setting with an ample supply of traditional wares, gears and motifs. It also has a fireplace for those wanting to stay the night out by the fire and tell stories. The baths are also clean with good water supply. It has a small courtyard with enough parking space for guests. The hotel is not very far from the main town and is also at a walkable distance form the biggest village in India, Kohima village. The hotel has a history of its own and although the building looks old it has rich story to tell. It also has a good service with polite people working round the clock.

A vintage world war era house, with a lot of history attached to it, now converted to a hotel. It has the old charm with the modern amenities. A relaxing, comfortable stay in the heart of Kohima; clean rooms, excellent service and a great host! The best place to stay in Kohima.

Loved this place. Stayed here for a night. Comfortable rooms, good food, very cordial hostess and her staff. They gave me veg food on request which is a rarity in Nagaland. House has historic significance dating back world war 2. Has an amazing collection of artefacts from local Naga heritage. Loved it.

This is more of a homestay with a piece of Naga history. Our room was very comfortable. Breakfast is sumptuous & veggie friendly. Thanks to Sushma, Supen and Swee(hope I got that correct) for making our stay comfortably memorable.
